My name is Baker . My foster mom calls me a fluff ball of love. I am a 12 year old Bichon mix. I am housebroken, crate trained although I'm always good and never need to be crated. Need a chill companion I'm your guy. ADOPTION PROCESS 1. Review our adoption contract and application. 2. Call your vet and references to inform them that a rescue representative will be calling. 3. Story
Please note that because all our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance from Glen Mills, PA for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in-person home visit. Meet Bell! Bell is a 13 year old Bichon Frise who found herself in need of rescue after she was surrendered to the shelter by her owners. Bell was understandably confused and saddened by her change in circumstances. She spent her first few days in foster care trembling with fear.  It didn’t take her long to realize that her foster family wasn’t so bad, and she is now showing more and more of her sweet personality. She will greet her family with a tail wag and sweet little kisses. Bell loves to be held and carried around. Her absolute favorite place in the world is by her human’s side. She will happily sit on your lap or stay close by in her comfy dog bed. Bell is housebroken and is a perfect guest in the car. She is well behaved for her vet and grooming visits. Bell sleeps through the night and enjoys lazy mornings in bed. She is still pretty timid and will stick to her dog bed and wait patiently for you to carry her from room to room. As time goes on, she has become increasingly more brave and has started to explore a little more of her surroundings. Her ideal family will be patient and understanding and allow Bell to come out of her shell in her own time. We believe Bell likely didn’t get out much in her previous home, she seems completely unfamiliar with the leash. However, we think this is a skill she will eventually learn as she is very smart and loves to go wherever you go! Bell has shared her foster home with children and other dogs. She is small in stature and would do best with older, gentle children. She would not enjoy being around energetic dogs, and would like some fellow, lazy pups to keep her company. She would be equally happy to be your one and only. She is spunky enough to correct any dogs that get close to her face, so would do best with dogs that will pick up on her cues and not be offended! Bell will bark and cry when you leave her, but is usually settled by the time her family returns. Bell has caught up on a lot of vetting while in rescue. She was suffering from glaucoma in her left eye and had to have it removed. She still has vision in her right eye and can navigate her surroundings well. She also had a dental and was spayed. Bell had perfect bloodwork results and overall seems to be a healthy little gal!
