We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive for a meet and greet. We are a 100% foster-based rescue. Applications can be found on our website at gateway4paws.org Bosc is a sweet boy who has been looking for his very own family for over a year but no one has been interested in him. He loves to be held & snuggles when it is storming outside. He is a timid boy and would prefer to just come to you when he wants to. His family should be prepared to give him plenty of time to get used to being around hands, humans, & home activity. Bosc will not walk or do potty business while on a harness and leash. Therefore, he must have a secure physically fenced yard. In time, his family can work on leash training, but he isn't ready for that right now. Bosc enjoys the company of his foster brothers and sisters. He looks to them for guidance so this will be a requirement for Bosc. They also need to be of similar size to Bosc or smaller. Bosc has shown measurable improvement in potty training. While in the house, his mom uses a belly band for him. This allows her the opportunity to correct his behavior without the panic of getting the furniture or carpet soiled. He is doing well, but again, his training needs time, praise, & consistency. Bosc will be the perfect companion to just hang out at home relaxing. Please apply if you are prepared to dedicate time & love to giving Bosc the family he has always deserved.

Henry is a Bichon Frise/Havanese mix ready to start a new chapter of his life, and he is looking for someone to help him write it. This sweet, lovable boy is full of potential and will melt your heart with his playful personality and gentle nature. Henry may be shy at first, but with patience and understanding, he'll blossom into the loyal companion you've been looking for. Having spent his early days in a puppy mill, Henry is still learning to trust humans, but he's making great progress! He's looking for a loving home where he can continue to build his confidence and learn the ropes of the world. What Henry needs: ** A patient home with a family that uses positive reinforcement and understands he might need time to adjust ** A home where he can continue learning how to grow through puppy habits like potty training, leash walking, and chewing. What Henry offers: ** A cuddly, affectionate companion once he feels comfortable ** An adorable, soft coat that's perfect for snuggling ** A desire to please and be loved Henry is still a bit of a "work in progress" and is learning the basics like how to walk on a leash and perfecting his potty training. He's also discovering that not everything in the house is a chew toy (though he still loves to nibble on things now and then). But with some patience and consistency, he's sure to be the well-behaved dog of your dreams! He gets along well with other dogs and would do best in a home with another friendly, confident dog to show him the ropes, or with an experienced adopter who can give him the time and space he needs to flourish. If you're ready to give Henry the patience, love, and care he deserves, he'll reward you with unconditional love and a bond that's worth every bit of effort. Winter is 11 y/o who has anxiety. He does not bite, but people other animals, and kids can easily mistreat him. His diet has to be monitored because he likes to eat a lot. He's pretty lazy and would rather sit on the porch and people-watch with you than for you to take him on a long walk. He is terrified of storms, and before One comes, he will let you know. He is very dramatic. If you scare him, he will scream like you hurt him. He prefers to have another gentle dog or to be under you 24/7 for support. He loves his cage and it's his safe place. He knows how to open it on his own and close himself in.
