Story
Sparkler (Sparky to his friends) is an 8'ish-year old, 15-pound Bichon.  Sparky is looking for a forever home with his best girl, Starla.   Sparky is a charming little fellow who is adjusting quite well to life outside the puppy mill.  He loves to play with toys and other dogs.  He zips around the yard with such exuberance.  He will throw himself into his foster mom's lap for snuggles when the mood strikes.  Foster mom now understands why people love Bichons so much. Sparky and Starla clearly adore each other and enjoy playing together (Check out a cute video of them here)! They take a little bit to warm up to new people, but when they do, it is all goodness!  Their ideal home is in the suburbs with a securely fenced yard.  They both do well with other dogs.  Having another dog in their forever home would be a bonus!  Children make them nervous, so teenagers and older is preferred. Sparky is in good health!  He is missing all of his teeth, so his tongue hangs out to the left of his mouth.  No worries - he still eats kibble.  He is darling!!!  To learn more about Starla and Sparkler, please email adoptme@cockerspanielrescue.com.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 1, 2024, 6:03 pm

Starla is ready to be the star at YOUR home!  Starla is a 6'ish-year-old, 15-pound beautiful Bichon.  Starla is looking for a forever home with her best friend, Sparkler!   Starla is a sweet girl who is loving life outside of the puppy mill.  She enjoys napping in sunshine and rolling in grass.  She just recently learned how comfortable sofas can be, and she'll wait to be lifted onto to one.  She loves her treats, particularly chicken.  Starla has a fun, sweet personality, especially when she is with her bestie Sparkler.  They both clearly love each other and enjoy playing together (Check out a cute video of them here)! They can take a little bit to warm up to new people, but when they do they are super sweet and adorable. Their ideal home is in the suburbs with a securely fenced yard.  They both do very well with other dogs.  Having another dog in their forever home to show them the ropes would be a bonus!  Children make them nervous, so teenagers and older is preferred. Starla is in excellent health.  To learn more about Starla and Sparkler, please email adoptme@cockerspanielrescue.com.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 1, 2024, 6:03 pm

Story
Hi, I'm Elsa! I came from a severe hoarding/neglect situation, but I'm very sweet and already settling in with my foster family. I'm currently being treated for heartworms. Due to my age and size, I am going through slow-kill treatment which simply means it could take up to 12-14 months for me to fully recover. Fortunately, slow-kill treatment is super easy and just requires me to take a specific heartworm preventative once a month - plus I'm already two months into my treatment. I also come with a six-month supply of this preventative which will travel with me when I'm adopted! You can learn more about heartworm here. The nice folks at RDR will update my profile when they learn more about me. I cannot wait to find a forever home where I can share all the love I've got to give. Please visit our website www.ruraldogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing dog and to see other dogs available for adoption!
