Rocky is a 7 yr. old, neutered male bichon. Although Rocky supposedly lived with another dog in his previous home, he's been in foster care for awhile now, and we believe he needs to be an only dog. When he has been with other dogs in his foster home, scuffles and jealousy have been a consistent issue. He's much happier as an only dog. Rocky is house trained as long as he gets out regularly. If he is left alone for long periods of time or not given regular opportunities to go outside, he will mark in the house. Rocky LOVES visitors. He will snuggle up to anyone who comes over to get some love. However, his favorite thing is to just hang with his trusted peeps. We don't have kids in our household, and given his alpha personality, we think Rocky would probably do best in an adult home. However, with all the adult visitors that have come to our house, with very few exceptions, Rocky has been extremely friendly. He is put off by loud, "in your face" behavior. This causes him to be very tentative. If we are running errands and are just going to be running in and out of stores for a minute here and there, Rocky comes along for the ride. He's a great traveler and LOVES coming along. If he's welcome in a store or restaurant and there aren't a lot of other dogs, we bring him along. He's great with PEOPLE, but not so much with other dogs. Rocky is a couch potato when you want to sit on the couch and watch a movie or take a nap. However, he's also extremely active and playful. If you don't feel like playing with him, he'll find a toy or a dog bed and play with it all by himself. He can be a hoot to watch. If he feels you are not giving him an appropriate amount of attention, he will come over and either sit on top of you or "paw" you until you start doing your job! (i.e., petting him or playing with him!) Rocky's photos don't do him justice. We took them when he first arrived and they don't show his true personality. He's absolutely adorable. Just like all bichons, he's adorable, but his personality makes him even cuter. Everyone who visits falls in love with him. This friend has just arrived to us on transport from a high-intake shelter partner! When our friends are new to us, we are often unsure of their full background. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and update their bio with more information as we learn. They are pending interactions with animals until they have been cleared by our vet. Please note that we often are unsure of house, crate, car, and leash training status upon arrival. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Please note that because all our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance from Wayne, PA for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in-person home visit. Meet Lily! Lily is a 9-year-old, 8lb., Maltese mix who was found as a stray and brought to a shelter. Scared and matted, this sweet girl needed help. Lily was taken into rescue and given a new beginning. Her fur was cleaned up, she received a dental, a spay, and had a lump removed from her ear. Lily has good hearing but is vision impaired. Although she gets around her fosters home with no issues at all. She takes eye drops twice a day and the cost for these is $80 a month. Lily is fully potty trained, can handle stairs, and gets along well with dogs and kids. She hasn’t met cats yet, but is good with bunnies. Lily has been working on leash training and would love to have a fenced-in yard. Her ideal home would be low-energy and have people around most of the time. Lily is a lap dog and she wants to be cuddled and snuggled. She loves car rides and currently goes to work with her foster mama. Lily is a couch potato who cannot soak up enough love and kisses. She does a great job of being a lap warmer and will bring you endless joy. This sweet sweet girl will sleep in bed with you and even share your pillow. There is no such thing as too close with Lily.
