You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Charlie, a 17-pound Bichon Frise with a heart full of love and an incredible story of resilience. Born around July 8, 2021, Charlie was tragically thrown over the fence onto our property late one freezing night, matted and terrified. Thankfully, a staff member of ours spotted him and ensured his safety.  Despite his rough start, Charlie has blossomed into an affectionate and gentle companion. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs until feeding time.  He has to be fed separately.  This is  very common for dogs that were left to fend for themselves.  They want to make sure they don't go hungry.  Charlie isn't a fan of cats, unless they come with crackers and a little bit of picante sauce.  So his idea home will not have a cat.  Charlie loves people.  Charlie’s sweet nature and resilience are sure to win your heart. Charlie’s adoption fee is $400, which includes his neuter, heartworm-negative test, up-to-date vaccines, and prevention (ProHeart and Bravecto). He’s currently located in Texas but is eligible for transport to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington (Kentucky), or anywhere along the East Coast. Please note there is an additional transport fee of $225, and we are unable to transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations. Hi, I’m Martha! I’m a 5-year-old, 10-pound Bichon with a an incredibly sweet nature. I may be a little shy at first, but once I feel safe, my gentle personality shines through. I get along well with other dogs and enjoy their company. I’ll need a patient adopter who understands that I need time to build trust. I get along well with other dogs and enjoy their company. I also love exploring new spaces (even if I still need some help with house training—oops!), and I’m always curious about my surroundings. I was a perfect angel for my bath, and while I may be a bit reserved at first, I promise I have so much love to give. A calm, understanding home without young kids would be best for me as I continue to gain confidence. If you’re looking for a sweet, curious little companion who just needs a bit of patience and love, I might be the perfect match for you! We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. This little cutie arrived from St. Thomas in early February and has been nothing but an absolute joy!  Nothing like waking up to pure happiness and sunshine from this little lady. Hot Pepper aka known as Piper is believed to be a Shih Tzu and terrier mix.  She’s a petite gal weighing in at a whopping 10 pounds.  She is a young, playful, yet calm dog, who would fit any lifestyle.  She is currently being fostered with dogs of all ages, sizes, temperaments, and she’s rocking it.  Piper loves people too!  Especially if you have a handy treat available.  This little girl will do a cartwheel for a snack.  Piper loves her chew toys and spends hours happily chewing on them to keep her teeth cleaned.  She also enjoys hanging out on your lap or doing chase and catch games. Car rides? Perfect little partner!  Great at the Vet.  Great on leash and non-reactive to the environment.  She is a quiet little dog and rarely barks. She is crate trained and currently sleeps on her own at night in her crate with all her stuffies.  She adores her crate.  She is potty trained to go outside to do her business after initially struggling to learn this probably because of the climate change   She is said to not be a fan of cats. Pros: EVERYTHING!  Great little dog. Cons: Occasional accidents inside due to confusion.  We believe she was pee pad trained.  She finds door mats or small rugs to do her business on.  This behavior has mostly subsided, but will still need to be monitored. In St. Thomas she showed signs of separation anxiety but with the proper sturcture here, she has shown no signs of it.  We are looking for a family that will be able to give her structure and rules to follow but with that, she'll show you so much love. Fill out an application if your interested in this adorable little angel. ##2300571##
