If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! Story
Meet Skye, an adorable 11-pound Bichon with a curious heart and a gentle spirit. Skye is discovering the joys that humans can bring, like gentle scratches and tasty treats, and she's eagerly soaking up everything her new life has to offer. In the play yard, you'll find her investigating every corner, making sure she hasn't missed a thing as she takes in her surroundings.Though a bit cautious at first, Skye will approach people with hopeful curiosity, and once she trusts you, she delights in all the pets and scratches you have to offer. She gets along well with other dogs and would especially enjoy a calm, easygoing friend who matches her gentle energy. Skye is the perfect blend of calm and playful, a happy little soul ready to continue her journey with a family who can show her all the love she's been waiting for. Could you be the one to share her next chapter?- - - - -Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Meet Kat, an 11-pound Bichon with a curious, cautious nature. Right now, she's a bit standoffish with humans but has started taking those first brave steps to approach slowly, curiosity sparking her progress. With a gentle, patient family by her side, Kat will soon discover that humans bring wonderful things like treats and the joy of a good scratch. She's friendly with other dogs, often observing the confident pups in her playgroup and following their lead. Her curiosity shines through as she explores and takes in her new world one step at a time. Kat would do well with a fenced yard for extra security and would be content either as an only dog or with a calm dog friend. She's on a journey of trust and discovery, and all she needs is a loving family to guide her.- - - - -Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. ####Highlights:-Needs a more confident dog in the home -Needs a fenced-in yard Meet Anita, a delicate 14-pound Bichon with a shy demeanor and a gentle soul. Right now, Anita feels most at ease around other dogs, especially those her own size, finding joy in playtime and happily running about with her furry friends. She loves to snuggle up with her canine companions, which brings her a sense of comfort and confidence. She will need a more confident dog in her new home to help her grow and learn the ropes, guiding her in discovering the joy of human companionship.Although she's not yet comfortable with being picked up or approaching humans for affection, she shows glimpses of her sweet spirit when she feels safe in a calm environment. Anita will thrive with an adopter who is patient and understanding, someone who can give her the time and space she needs to blossom into a confident, trusting companion. Since she doesn't walk on a leash yet, a secure fenced yard will be essential for her safety as she continues her journey toward confidence. If you're ready to offer the gentle guidance she needs, Anita may just be the loyal, loving friend you've been looking for.- - - - -Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet.
