We are raising funds for all of her diagnostic procedures--Xrays, Ultrasounds, CBC, Urinalysis--for her extensive dental work, and extraction and suturing of six very bad removed teeth, and for her bladder stone removal surgery, JENNY is a Maltipoo, a Maltese/Poodle cross. Jenny is 7 years old and weighs about 15 pounds. She is a cream and white color, and she is also hypoallergenic! JENNY is very intelligent and inquisitive. She is housetrained, sweet, gentle, playful, loving, affectionate, a lot of fun to be with, and not destructive. Dogs like JENNY also require regular ongoing grooming maintenance to prevent dangerous matts and tangles in the fur which can cause serious skin damage. ABOUT SHELTER STRESS Dogs who have lived in shelters for a long period of time develop behaviors due to an environment that is loud, chaotic, and stressful, even in best shelters in the US. Dogs in shelters have limited socialization exposure to people and urban environments. DoVE dogs also come from a traumatic background such as dog meat farms and slaughterhouses. While many of our dogs acclimate within a few months with consistency, structure, and patience, some of our more sensitive dogs can take longer to rehabilitate. It's important to note that these sensitive dogs are even more attuned to human emotions and behavior, making for a deeper connection human-dog connection. Nana was rescued from a high kill shelter located in Incheon, Korea. She came to us fearful of people and other animals, suggesting that she might have endured difficult experience at a young age. She was weak, dehydrated and suffering from malnutrition. Thanks to our foster mom, Nana made huge improvements and ready to meet her family. We are looking for a family who will continue to provide proper training. PLEASE NOTE: All of our recently rescued dogs are currently fostered in Seoul, Korea by our volunteers. Our adoption process may be stricter than any other rescue organization as these rescued dogs are traveling over 5500 miles to be with their new permanent family. She is now adapting to everyday life and is expected to become healthier and happier soon! ** Health Status - Scaling done, two teeth extracted - Originally had poor skin condition leading to severe grooming and medicated baths; currently much improved and non-contagious. - Due to periodontitis, her gums have receded, causing instability in her teeth. This prevents her from eating hard food, and she requires soft kibble and snacks. - Has an eye injury but no vision impairment. * Interaction with People: Loves people but initially fears strangers, especially men. Takes time to warm up, but once comfortable, she follows around, wags her tail, and likes to be by your side. * Interaction with Dogs: Shows little interest in other dogs and prefers spending time alone. * Interaction with Cats: Indifferent; passes by without much notice. * Separation Anxiety: Minimal; manages well alone and spends most of the time sleeping when the family is out. * Potty Training: She prefers indoor potty training and is proficient with using pads. She occasionally confuses blankets with her potty spot but is improving. She also does well with outdoor potty training during walks. * Hygiene: She cooperates well during baths. Nail trimming can be frightening and cause some fuss, but she stays calm. This little cutie patootie is Forest and he is an approximately 5 month old, Maltese/Terrier mix who is the absolute cutest thing ever! Forest came to us with his mom and two sisters (all have been adopted) when they were being given away for free out of a car on a busy street. Thankfully, a kind woman saw what was going on and took them. She then reached out to us to see if we could take them into our foundation and we said yes! Forest is an absolute doll and loves people and other dogs. We will only place him in a home with another young/playful dog and with owners that are not gone long hours during the day. Owners that are puppy savvy is a big plus! Forest would be ok in a home with children 12 years old and older as he is very tiny. Please note that his mom was a terrier so he is not fully hypoallergenic. Forest is such a sweet boy with such a good personality that we want to find him the best forever home out there! This pretty little girl is Lily Moon! She came to our rescue when a kind woman found her tied to a pole with another dog. She did her due diligence with trying to find an owner, but nobody stepped forward to claim them. One of our rescue partners was contacted about the two dogs and they reached out to us to see if we could take Lily Moon, which we said yes immediately and they took the other pup into their foundation. She is an approximately 3 year old, 18lb Shih Tzu mix that is absolutely precious in person! Lily Moon would do best in an adult only home as your one and only in the home getting all the attention that she deserves. She is great on walks and has absolutely no reactions to other dogs while happily trotting down the street. Lily Moon will come to you a little shy and unsure so she needs a home that will be patient and loving with her during that transition. We love this little girl and know that her forever home is out there! Lily Moon is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
