Story
H! My name is Inez, and I am IN SOUTH KOREA waiting to be matched to a home in Los Angeles! I was rescued by DoVE Project out of South Korea. My fate would have likely been to end up being captured and sold for human consumption through the dog meat trade. Thanks to my rescuers and DoVE Project, I am no longer in danger and am now I am looking for my forever family! ID/NAME: CARE24-017 / Inez SEX/WEIGHT/AGE: Female / 6 lbs / 5 years BIRTH DATE: September 1, 2024 BREED: Bichon Frise mix VACCINATIONS/SPAY/NEUTER/HEALTH: Vaccinations complete / Spayed / Healthy BEHAVIOR: Inez is a sweet little princess! It doesn't take long for Inez to charm you with her lively and cute personality. She enjoys running around outdoors and exploring interesting scents. When she heads inside, she likes to find soft and fluffy places to cuddle! She gets along well with other friends and has a kind and loving personality to everyone. BACKGROUND: Rescued from a puppy mill that used Inez as a practice dog for grooming. Many dogs were found sick with injuries. ABOUT SHELTER STRESS Dogs who have lived in shelters for a long period of time develop behaviors due to an environment that is loud, chaotic, and stressful, even in best shelters in the US. Dogs in shelters have limited socialization exposure to people and urban environments. DoVE dogs also come from a traumatic background such as dog meat farms and slaughterhouses. While many of our dogs acclimate within a few months with consistency, structure, and patience, some of our more sensitive dogs can take longer to rehabilitate. It's important to note that these sensitive dogs are even more attuned to human emotions and behavior, making for a deeper connection human-dog connection. DoVE Project is committed to helping our adopters desensitize and socialize our dog meat trade survivors. ********************************* DoVE Project operates a shelter in South Korea, where our dogs stay until they are matched with an adopter. In the US, our dogs stay in foster homes or in boarding, as we do not have a physical facility. These dogs are identified with "in LA" in their names. Please note that we only adopt our pups in the Southern California area. Please check our website for more information regarding our adoption process, our mission, and our adoption application: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-process If you are interested in adopting, please complete an online application at: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-application-form

JENNY--Help needed JENNY is in need of sponsorship in our sponsorship program to pay for the remainder of her extensive veterinary costs. We are raising funds for all of her diagnostic procedures--Xrays, Ultrasounds, CBC, Urinalysis--for her extensive dental work, and extraction and suturing of six very bad removed teeth, and for her bladder stone removal surgery, JENNY is a Maltipoo, a Maltese/Poodle cross. Jenny is 7 years old and weighs about 15 pounds. She is a cream and white color, and she is also hypoallergenic! JENNY is very intelligent and inquisitive. She is housetrained, sweet, gentle, playful, loving, affectionate, a lot of fun to be with, and not destructive. Dogs like JENNY also require regular ongoing grooming maintenance to prevent dangerous matts and tangles in the fur which can cause serious skin damage. To learn more about additional help we need for JENNY'S veterinary care, please contact us at: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (also our PayPal email address for sponsorships and donations).

Story
Ozzy is a sweet, loving Bichon/Poodle mix who's about 5 years old and weighs 13 pounds.  This poor guy was wandering around the streets of  San Bernardino for weeks before someone lured him into her car and took him to the shelter.   He's a gentle guy who loves a lap and enjoys just being in your presence.  He's good on a leash and enjoys his walks and is friendly with strangers and other dogs he encounters.  Ozzy loves other dogs and is comical in the way he engages with them.  He would love to have a playmate.  Ozzy does have separation anxiety right now so it's best if someone is home most of the time and/or there's another dog.   He's just a joy to have around and only wants to please and be by your side.  Ozzy is the perfect companion.  He has all his shots, is neutered and chipped.  If you're interested, please fill out the application on our website bichonsandbuddies.com.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 28, 2024, 11:22 pm
