Story
Zipper is the ultimate family dog. He was adopted from ARF in 2013 and has been with my family since then, watched my kids grow up and is absolutely the most loving dog in the world. In the last 18 months I've gone through a separation, my kids had to move out on their own and I had to sell my house. I'm now displaced and cannot keep my little buddy. Zipper would be best as a single dog for a family who can take him for at least two walks per day and can spend the majority of their time with him. He loves to snuggle with his people watching TV and loves lazy days. He's very social and great with kids, other dogs and loves people. He will not do well with cats.

Story
This little gem is a medical special needs pup. Sasha is a very sweet and easy going 3 year old Bichon mix; she is about 11 pounds. She loves all people and dogs and enamors everyone she meets. She walks well on leash, sleeps through the night in her crate, and does relatively well with her alone time. She has an adorable way of getting one's attention and loves to play with other dogs. Unfortunately Sasha was most likely hit by a car at some point and her spine is broken in her lower back. She has full use of all her legs, but she's completely incontinent. Her foster assists her to empty her bladder 3-4 times per day (easy to do, and a potential adopter could be taught to do it). If she is assisted to empty her bladder, her diaper stays dry and her fur stays clean. Due to her condition, Sasha is prone to UTIs, but helping her to empty her bladder regularly decreases this potential. Luckily she doesn't show any signs of pain and has a full life expectancy. Sasha will need to live with someone who is home most of the time. She'd probably do best in a home with a yard, so she doesn't always have to be in a diaper, but she would also be an easy dog for an apartment dweller as she doesn't necessarily have to be walked first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Since Sasha is "non-shedding, she will need regular grooming. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Sasha is $200. If you are interested in adopting Sasha, please complete our online adoption application at  https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/   . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. We will consider applicants outside the 9-county San Francisco Bay Area for Sasha, as long as applicant is able to travel to Oakland for meet and greet, and pick up. Story
Stella got her groove back!!! Now she needs a great home or foster to adopt! She still needs her spay. We will get that done very soon. I could not land on a name she would respond to until my neighbor took her for a walk, Stella blossomed and responded right away to her new name. She is good around kids, about 85% maybe more house trained now. Did very well for a first time grooming and if not her first time did very good. Stella was a stray so she will guard any food bits or food items like a napkin if she gets ahold of it. You must trade her for something else she wants or will snarl at you. A valued treat works best for me. She has gotten worlds better at meeting new people. I have a handyman coming to my home who she absolutely loves. All visitors have been greeted nicely by her or soon afterwards. For more info, please email LBREDFIRE@SBCGLOBAL.NET Children should be old enough to not take away her guarded item. She knows sit so far and seems pretty clever. she isn't attending events because my hip is not functioning well.   Stella is fostered in Danville CA. Come see this pup during adoption event hours. Please email Linda at lbredfire@sbcglobal.net or call WT&F's Dog Team voicemail 707-812-9030 to get a jump on the process, ask questions, and/or to confirm they will be there.  Dog adoptions are held at Napa Petco on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month - 1:00pm to 4:00pm. This dog comes spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, and more with an adoption fee/donation to Whiskers, Tails and Ferals in Napa, CA.
