Story
MACDUFF MacDuff’s Must Haves: - MacDuff loves his people and is a gentle giant. True to his lineage, he is happiest when everyone is in the same room under his watchful eye. - One MacDuff is a lot of love! He has no desire to share his home and family with any other pets. - MacDuff would enjoy having a backyard to romp around - somewhere he can stretch his legs, sniff around and explore at his own pace. - Sometimes, doods take a longer journey to adoption. MacDuff has spent time with our training partner before heading to a foster home. As a result, the big guy has honed his skills and is ready to be a great companion. - Adopters MUST live in the DFW-area and be willing to work with MacDuff’s foster and trainer through a slow adoption process. Several meetings will be required before the adoption can be finalized. - MacDuff’s “let’s not” includes fireworks, thunderstorms and vet visits. Therefore, he is currently on an anti-anxiety prescription regimen. A stable, bonded home should lessen the need for the medication over time. - MacDuff’s family will be patient, loving and continue with medication and training. Personality: - MacDuff is a gentle soul who loves heavily and with all of his heart. He rewards patience with total devotion. - Have errands to run? No worries, MacDuff is totally trustworthy left loose in the house while you're gone. - In addition to being smart, he is food motivated and wants to please very badly. This dood is ready to learn new skills! - Big Mac is learning to be brave—he recently watched the neighbors saw down a tree. That was so noisy! The yak chew reward was worth it! - He’s a fabulous companion—part weighted blanket, part trusted confidant, part enthusiastic bestie. 100% good boy! - Did you say “ball”? Yes, please! Are You The One for MacDuff? MacDuff’s adoption fee is $650 . He is HW-negative, current on vaccinations and HW/flea preventatives, neutered, and microchipped. All adoption fees go toward expenses like medical costs and food for Doodle Dandy dogs and help make it possible for us to continue giving amazing pups like MacDuff a second chance. Story
Honey-Bun (aka “Bunny”, “Bun-Bun”, and “you’re so cute”) Meet “Bunny” — equal parts snuggle bug, comedian, and tiny, quirky queen. A Great Pyrenees Cattle dog mix. (With a hint of red fox 😂) Her name fits her perfectly—her coat is the color of Honey, and she’s just as sweet. She is on the smaller side, only 48 lbs). If you’re looking for a velcro dog who will be your shadow on the sofa, curl up as close as physically possible, and melt at gentle affection, Bunny is your girl. She’s sensitive, deeply loving, and thrives with patience, calm energy, and someone who appreciates a dog with a little extra personality. She is fine with other dogs, and she loves to play. Slow introductions are recommended as she is shy and nervous at first. If you have a house full of cute little kids, Honey is not for you. However, she does fantastic with older kids and loves the attention she gets from them. (Foster-home have teenagers!) She enjoys emptying our very large toy box, throwing the toys around on the soft rug. It’s adorable. Bunny’s story didn’t start easy. She was left on a country road and waited there for two weeks, hoping her family would come back. They didn’t. When she was rescued, she was completely shut down — too scared to walk, ride in a car, or even move. Over time, she began to trust again… only to be displaced once more when her rescuer couldn’t keep her. That’s when she came to us. And yes — we started back at square one. Frozen in the yard, unsure of everything, overwhelmed by the world. She has come a long way and is so courageous these days, but fairly certain she will digress slightly upon arrival to a new home. But here’s where Bunny shows you who she really is. With time, encouragement, a pack of five very patient resident dogs, and (let’s be honest) a steady supply of treats, she blossomed. The dog who once “pancaked” on walks now sprints to the door when she senses it’s time to go out. Doorways? Conquered. Garage door noises? Irrelevant. The bed she once hid under? Long forgotten. What you get now is Bunny 2.0 — a happy, hilarious little character who quite literally smiles all day. She’s food-motivated (carrots and ice included), endlessly entertaining as she digs herself into the couch cushions Her signature move on walks: spotting another dog and transforming into a pogo stick. Have never seen anything like it. She’s also a world-class backyard observer. She loves watching the world go by. Squirrels? Fascinating. Bunnies? Immediate pogo activation. Birds? Not worth her time. Bunny is house-trained, doesn’t bark much, knows a couple of basic commands (sit, no, treats) and is very eager to please. Training will come over time — confidence was the real work, and she’s already done the hard part. She does best with patient and gentle guidance; raised voices will shut her down. Please submit your application, and an adoption counselor will contact you.
