You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Lets talk about Charlie.  He is 8 months old.  His owner was ill.  He has NOT been socialized.  He has some guarding issues.  He is not comfortable at this time with other dogs......   He needs a foster or owner who is willing to put in the work to make Charlie whole again.  Comfortable in his own skin & accepting of humans and fur buddies. He has bonded with his past owners sister and loves her undeniably but she has a dog that does not like other dogs and would probably hurt Charlie and make his mistrust even worse so right now she is visiting Charlie 3 times a day at her brothers home.  She goes back to work soon so we need to find a place where Charlie will be safe and loved. At this time he is definitely not going to be placed in a home with children and we would REALLY like to see him go to someone with a fenced yard as he has one now and is used to it.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm

Story
Meet Tally ~ She is a 1 yr old bernadoodle and sweet as can be!!Tally came to us from a commercial breeder and has been adjusting well in her foster home. She loves treats and likes to go on walks. She is a little shy, when meeting new people, but once she is comfortable and gains some trust she is happy to lounge around and snuggle. Tally has a very calm and chill temperament. She is quiet but adapts well in different environments. Tally is comfortable around other animals (cats and dogs) and is also comfortable around children of all ages. She is crate trained she has done very well with going out to use the potty with very minimal accidents. Tally has been spayed, is up to date on vaccines and is microchipped. She is being fostered in Reading and any prospective adopters would need to travel to meet her along with all members of the household and any resident dogs. If this sweet girl sounds like a good fit for your family please submit an application on our website. Kennel License #9117 PO Box 2372 Reading PA 19608

Story
Hi! I'm Willie I am a 3 month mini bernadoodle who came to Zoe's House due to my tail being too short, but that doesn't bother me none! I love life and will add so much fun to my furever home. I get along great with my foster siblings, dog and cats. I love kids but I'm still learning my manners and forget how sharp my teeth are so older dog savvy kids would be best. I would love another pup but it's not needed as long as I get the play and stimulation I need. I have A LOT of energy!!! I already walk great on a leash and I am working on my potty training and manners. I do well in the crate when you leave but if I know your home I make it known how much I want out. Like my name sake I love to use my voice. I am most vocal when I want attention, when playing and sometimes when I'm in my crate so a detached home would be best. I love to run and play outside so having my very own yard is a must. Since I'm too young to be neutered right now, I will be adopted under a Neuter Contract. More information will be provided to my adoptive family. I am UTD on my vaccines for my age but will require 1 booster and possibly my rabies vaccine, shortly after adoption. If you feel I would make a great addition to your family, please apply for me at www.zoeshouserescue.com so we can meet. Kennel license 9117 Reading, PA 19608
