Story
Leo - neutered male, 2 years Say hello to Leo! Leo is searching for his forever home! Leo is very shy, he will need a patient home who understands he will need a calm environment so he can bloom at his own pace! Leo does best in a home with another dog. Having a doggy companion helps Leo to feel more at ease! Leo can often be found snuggled up on his blanket, playing with his toys! He is a big fan of stuffed toys. Leo does well with other dogs. We have not seen him around cats. A home with older, respectful kids would be best due to Leo being a bit skittish. If you would like to open your home to Leo, please fill out an application for him today! Leo is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped

Story
Meet MERLIN! 🐾 Need a friend to brighten up your day, life and whole world? This little nugget fits the bill. Merlin is looking for his loving forever home! 🏡 This sweet boy is approx. 10 wks old, full of personality, energy, and ready to shower you with lots of cuddles. How can anyone resist such sweetness? 💖 Personality: Goofy, playful and energetic. He plays until pooped then settles in for long puppy naps. He is great with all people and other dogs and would do great in a home where someone has time to play and teach him all kinds of social skills and tricks. MERLIN is going to be great family companion and he is ready to be your new best friend! 🏡 Ideal Home: MERLIN would do great in a family that has space to roam and explore, and maybe even another doggy sibling to make friends with. He would also be fine as a single pup. If you looking for a life long companion and friend this little guy is perfect for you. If you’re ready to give MERLIN a lifetime of belly rubs, treats, and a cozy bed, please reach out! Let’s find this sweet pup the forever home he deserves. 🐶💕 Once adopted he will travel via the Rescue Transport to her new family. They travel each and every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you would like to make this cutie part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Our turnaround time is typically less than 24 hours so please be prepared before you submit your application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
Josie is a sweetheart. Loves to snuggle and play fetch. She is a true Velcro dog, but almost to a fault. She suffers from separation anxiety and does not like to be confined to a crate. She will drool excessively when she stays in one. She gets very excited when I return from work or anywhere and will bark and jump and it can be intimidating, but she is not aggressive towards me or my husband. She will calm down after a few minutes and then turns into a chill girl laying on the floor near you or playing with her toys. She is protective of her people and does bark at strangers sometimes. She also does not get along with female dogs and has had three fights with my 2 senior girls but gets along great with our male dog. She has gone to two trainers to try to help build her confidence and help him her anxiety. She is currently on Trazadone when we go to work. She would do best in a home with no female dogs and with someone who has patience with dogs with anxiety.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Lets talk about Charlie.  His owner got him from a puppy mill in Ohio.  Paid good money and had him shipped here.  Thats always a recipe for disaster :(  His owner was already sick and within the 8 months of Charlies life the owner died.Charlie has had no exposure to ANYTHING :(   We have started working with him exposing him to people, bicycles, walks etc.  Charlie is a super smart dog and is learning quickly but he will need a family that understands there is still much work to do.  An adopter MUST be willing to work with our behaviorist for at least 3 sessions.Charlie requires a fenced yardVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!November 1, 2024, 9:08 am
