Leo - neutered male, 2 years Say hello to Leo! Leo is searching for his forever home! Leo is very shy, he will need a patient home who understands he will need a calm environment so he can bloom at his own pace! Leo does best in a home with another dog. Having a doggy companion helps Leo to feel more at ease! Leo can often be found snuggled up on his blanket, playing with his toys! He is a big fan of stuffed toys. Leo does well with other dogs. We have not seen him around cats. A home with older, respectful kids would be best due to Leo being a bit skittish. If you would like to open your home to Leo, please fill out an application for him today! Leo is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped

Story
Josie is a sweetheart. Loves to snuggle and play fetch. She is a true Velcro dog, but almost to a fault. She suffers from separation anxiety and does not like to be confined to a crate. She will drool excessively when she stays in one. She gets very excited when I return from work or anywhere and will bark and jump and it can be intimidating, but she is not aggressive towards me or my husband. She will calm down after a few minutes and then turns into a chill girl laying on the floor near you or playing with her toys. She is protective of her people and does bark at strangers sometimes. She also does not get along with female dogs and has had three fights with my 2 senior girls but gets along great with our male dog. She has gone to two trainers to try to help build her confidence and help him her anxiety. She is currently on Trazadone when we go to work. She would do best in a home with no female dogs and with someone who has patience with dogs with anxiety.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please say hello to Beth! Beth is a Bernese Mountain Dog/ Husky Mix. She was born December 7, 2018. Prior to coming into rescue she lived her life in a small kennel inside of a barn, breeding puppies over and over. She had no name, they called her 'Dog.' Beth is learning a whole new life outside of the farm. She is playful but will need time to open up. She is scared of new things and has only lived in a barn stall her whole life. She loves being outside so will require a fenced in yard and a home with older children. Beth loves playing with other dogs so a home with another dog would be fine. But she can be an only dog. She loves playing with stuffies and will lay with them. She has never lived in a home so it will all be new. She will need patience from adopter so she can trust them. Beth will be a committed companion. Once Beth is comfortable she is good with anyone. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. If you would like to to welcome sweet Beth into your family, please apply at www.onedogatatime.us When applying to adopt through ODAAT, please know that we take pride in placing our animals appropriately based on their needs and personality. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application LOCATED IN FINKSBURG, MD HEADLINER: Sweet Sassy the Newfie. HISTORY: Sassy came from Kentucky to Maryland on 10/19. She was a tad underweight but has a great appetite and has been putting back on some weight. She was reported to be 2 years old at the shelter she was turned into. PERSONALITY: Sassy is a sweet Newfie who wants to be loved. She seeks snuggles and pets from her foster parents and wants to be near them. She enjoys romping around her yard and laying in the sunshine but also enjoys snoozing on the couch or on a dog bed. She has short spurts of playful energy followed by long naps. FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: walking around the yard, laying in the grass, snoozing on the couch, following people around the house and the yard, snuggling, eating treats and meals, dreaming of her forever home. MEDICAL ISSUES: recovering from hook worm. She completed the first round of medication and will complete one more in a couple of weeks. She was spayed on 10/18/24. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME: Sassy has been hot and cold with her foster brother. She can be temperamental around him and wants to assert her dominance. To be clear, there has been no aggression, but she has been very dominant around him. She would be best in a home with a submissive dog or no other dogs. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Again, Sassy is so, so sweet! She is always looking to be pet and loved on. She is low maintenance energy-wise and is fine just taking a stroll around the yard and plopping down or coming back inside. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed.
