At first, she may be a bit reserved with new people, but once she trusts you, she’ll reward you with sweet kisses and affection. She’s great with both dogs of all sizes and cats, and would do best in a home with another dog to help her come out of her shell and feel more comfortable.   Fiona is a quiet and calm companion, though she does have her moments of excitement! When you come home, she’ll greet you with a loud bark, but don’t worry—it’s just her way of showing how happy she is to see you. When she's really excited, she might even do a few happy spins in the yard, sometimes with a little bark thrown in. Despite these moments of enthusiasm, she’s generally a calm presence in the house.   She’s well-behaved when left alone and can be crated during the day, though she doesn’t need to be crated if you’re gone. Fiona sleeps soundly in her crate at night and loves eating her meals there as it gives her space to take her time. Fiona does have a tendency to bolt through doorways or small spaces in moments of panic, so a secure environment where she can feel calm and safe is important.   This shy but sweet girl will need a patient family who understands that she may take time to warm up. With the right guidance and support, she’ll thrive in a home that helps her overcome a few of her fears. Fiona loves treats of all kinds, which can be a great way to help build trust and positive associations.   If you’re looking for a quiet, affectionate companion who’s ready to grow with you, Fiona may be the perfect fit for your family.   Fiona’s adoption fee is $650 which includes her vaccines, preventatives, microchip and spay.   If you think you can give her a happy ever after home, please complete our online adoption application at this link https://www.animalert.ca/apply/dog-adoption  If you wish to learn more about Animalert, please visit our website at Animalert.ca Due to the volume of emails, phone calls and messages Animalert receives, it is not possible to respond to all applications.
