Story
Hi, I’m Bronco! I’m a 2.5-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog mix with a calm and steady presence that makes me one of a kind. At 80 pounds, I’m the perfect size for outdoor patrolling, quiet companionship, and lending a helping paw around the yard. I’m an independent soul who’s happy to have my space but also enjoys soft pets and small acts of affection when the moment feels right. I thrive in a calm environment, especially one with plenty of outdoor time and maybe even a job to do—I’m happiest when I have a purpose! While I’m not overly playful or cuddly, I bring a quiet, grounded energy to any home. I can be wary of other dogs, but with a proper introduction, I could peacefully coexist with the right companion. I’m already neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped, so I’m all set to join a home that appreciates my independent nature and steady spirit. If you’re looking for a unique and loyal companion who enjoys the simple things in life, I’d love to meet you! Come meet me! Apply to meet me at foothillshumanesociety.org, or visit me at: 📍 989 Little Mountain Rd, Columbus, NC 28722 🕒 Wednesday through Sunday, 11am–5pm Questions? Email adopt@foothillshumanesociety.org or call (828) 863-4444. Let’s start our journey together! 🐾

Story
Bear is believed to be around 2 years old, and mixed breed. He is very sweet and smart, and so far, has been learning things very quickly. He is house trained, and we are currently working on crate training. I got him recently, and am rehoming him because he is not good with other dogs, and I will not have the time to take care of him like he deserves.

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue:11/12/24 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Prince is up to date on vaccines for his age. Prince is a Bernedoodle. We will never guarantee that a doodle is hypoallergenic or that they won't shed. If you have allergy concerns, Prince is not your dog. Weight: 28 lbs and growing - we expect Prince will be between 40-45 lbs when full grown Height: 18 in and growing - we expect Prince will be between 20-22 inches when full grown Spayed/Neutered: No. Based on his age and growth estimate, Prince is not neutered. He will be adopted on a contract that requires you to neuter him at your cost within 9 months and provide proof of neuter. Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Prince requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically. What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! While our ideal home for puppies has another young dog in it, Prince could be adopted to a home where she is the only dog as long as there is a solid plan for regular socialization a minimum of 4 times per week.  Socialization occurs when dogs are off leash and free to be themselves, unencumbered by human restraints (other than the fence that keeps them safely contained). Socialization times would be for instance, inviting a neighbor or friend over with their dog to play in your fenced yard or going to someone else’s home to play in their fence yard. Socialization time could be doggy daycare. Socialization time could be a group walk if you include a playtime at the end of it. Training classes do not always include socialization time. Some puppy classes do include a period of time at the end where the dogs can romp and play together. This would be perfectly acceptable. Time can also take place inside the home, it does not have to be an outdoor area, as long as the dogs are free to interact with each other without leashes or other restraints. When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can!  What is my personality like? Say hello to Prince - a young, male doodle puppy who is looking for his furever! Prince is a very sweet and playful boy. He is a bit shy at first but if you wait patiently and offer treats and gentle affection, he will open right up. Prince is very sweet and playful, and growing by the day! He is working on potty training skills and learning what it’s like to be a pet. Prince would benefit most from an active family who plans to socialize him more, take him for hikes and extra playtime, and include him in any way possible. He is young and easily trainable, but with his young age comes LOTS of energy and a crave for playtime. Prince loves toys, attention and learning new things and he hopes to be home just in time for the holidays! He is working daily on more developmental skills, and potty training. This sweet, fluffy boy would make the perfect dog for any outgoing family or single adopters! How do I act when I first meet new people? Prince is a bit shy at first but if you wait patiently and offer treats and gentle affection, he will open right up. Other tips and tidbits: Prince was born 2/3/2024  House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. November 19, 2024, 9:48 am

Story
Canon was brought in because the family couldn't keep him at home. In Canon's defense he would like to say "the people shopping at Ingle's kept buying him chicken and feeding him treats. How could he say no?" His family said Canon is crate trained, loves attention and has lived with other dogs. Canon enjoys car rides and is friendly and playful with children. His favorite toys are balls. He is good with dogs who are not overly dominant. He likes Amelia, a female dog here and others but seems to be thrown off if the dog is dominant or overly jumpy on him.
