Story
Born January 1, 2024 Our Sadie is my daughter’s dog, who she promised she would take care of, and she hasn’t, and she’s leaving earlier for college than we initially thought, starting in a few weeks. Sadie loves to play with our pointer, who is a big lug, but she loves Rocky. Bernese Mountain Dogs are one of the best friends a person could have, especially for children.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   If you would like to take me home please complete a Pet Adoption Application   Female, Mini Bern Sierra Mist is a gentle soul who needs extra time and patience to warm up to new people. She’s been with us for a few months and is still learning to trust, but with the right person, we know she’ll blossom. If you’re willing to go slow and let her come around at her own pace, she could be the perfect companion for you!   She’s dog selective , meaning she gets along with some dogs but not all—so a meet-and-greet would be necessary to see if she’s a good match. Her feelings about cats are unknown.   Sierra Mist is still working on her leash skills, but enjoys running around in a pen. She’s also sensitive to loud noises and heavy traffic, so a calm, quiet home would suit her best. She’s not really into toys and can be a bit picky with her food and treats, but we think she just hasn’t found her favorites yet!   If you’re looking for a dog who needs a little extra love and patience, Sierra Mist might just be the one.  &#226&#128&#139      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  February 26, 2025, 8:41 pm

Story
Hi, I’m Athena, a 6-7 year old, 74 pound Bernese Mountain Dog who is finally getting the chance to experience what love really feels like. After years of neglect, I’m soaking up every bit of kindness and attention I can get—because let me tell you, I love being loved! Whether it’s a good scratch behind the ears, a gentle pat on my big fluffy head, or just hanging out by your side, I am all about human connection. I’m a pretty easygoing girl, especially when I get to go on walks. I’m good on a leash and enjoy taking in the sights and smells of the world around me. I get along well with other dogs, too, so I’d be happy to make some canine friends. Since I’m a big girl with a whole lot of enthusiasm, I might be a little too much for small kids—I wouldn’t mean to, but I could accidentally knock them over in my excitement! Now that I finally know what love and kindness feel like, I never want to go without them again. I’m looking for a forever home where I can make up for lost time with a family who will give me all the love I’ve been missing. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
I’m Ally, a 4-5 year old Bernese Mountain Dog with a heart as big as my paws! My past wasn’t the easiest—I didn’t get the love and care I deserved—but I don’t let that hold me back. I’m sweet, friendly, and so ready to make up for lost time with a family who will give me all the love I’ve been missing. Belly rubs? Yes, please. Head scratches? Even better. I just want to be your loyal, happy sidekick! I’m a pretty chill girl, and I walk well on a leash, so if you’re looking for a walking buddy, I’m your girl! I get along with just about everyone and I think I’d do fine with kids, too. That said, I’m a big, sturdy lady weighing 56 pounds, and I might accidentally knock over little ones in all my excitement. But I promise it’s only because I’m so full of joy—I just can’t help myself! Now, I’m dreaming of a forever home where I can finally be part of a family that adores me. After everything I’ve been through, I know I’ll appreciate every cuddle, treat, and happy moment even more. Story
Hi there, I’m Alvin! I’m a 5-6-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog, tipping the scales at a sturdy 90 lbs. Despite my size, I’m a gentle giant with a heart full of love. I adore people and enjoy affectionate cuddles. However, due to my large frame, I might accidentally topple over small children during playtime, so a home with older kids or adults would be ideal. I am healing from a lifetime of neglect and I am improving from having horrible ear infections and wounds on my ears. I didn’t receive the love and care every dog deserves, but that hasn’t dampened my spirits. I’m ready to leave those days behind and find a forever home where I can share all the affection I’ve been saving up. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to fill your days with joy and your heart with love, I’m your guy. Let’s start our new chapter together!
