Story
From early on, we noticed that Bauer required a higher level of attention and stimulation than typical. He sometimes had difficulty settling and could become overstimulated, so we put structure in place to support him—using his crate as a safe space to decompress and consistently applying positive reinforcement in his training. Over the past year, however, some of Bauer’s behaviors have become more challenging for us to manage. What initially presented as high energy has evolved into increased reactivity and difficulty with self-regulation. He has shown some resource guarding behaviors, particularly around guests, and has become more sensitive to correction. We care deeply about Bauer and want to ensure he is placed in an environment where he can receive the level of support and structure he needs to thrive. With four children in our home, including a baby, we need to prioritize a setting that is safe for everyone.

IDGSR Welcomes GEORGE into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Hiya Friends! My name is George and I'm a super adorable 10-week old German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix dude. I am located near Nashville TN and will be available for transport. Quick Facts Age: 10-weeks Kids: will do great with kids Dogs: will do well with other dogs Cats: can be taught to respect cats Training: needs full obedience training 1. I'm a new member of the IDGSR crew and I'm in the best foster home! My backstory is sad but I know my future is bright! 2. I'm just a little dude so I don't know anything YET! I need a patient adopter to teach me house & kennel training, obedience skills, and how to be a good canine citizen. 3. I'm a mix of 2 working breeds and will probably be a big boy when I grow up! Please take that into consideration before adopting me. 4. I would love to have an active home where I will get lots of playtime, exercise, and maybe some extra treats. I'm good with other dogs & would love to have a playmate. 5. If you are looking for a cute, cuddly, playful, energetic, curious, and amazing new best friend - I'm your guy! **SERIOUS APPLICANTS ONLY! If you are not 100% ready to adopt, please wait** ************** ***IMPORTANT ADOPTION INFORMATION*** -ALL dogs are fostered in TENNESSEE unless otherwise noted -We do transport dogs to the east coast; a transport fee will apply -All dogs are up-to-date on vaccinations, heart-worm testing, monthly preventatives, & are spayed or neutered -Puppies under 6-months of age will require a SPAY/NEUTER CONTRACT, a portion of the adoption fee will be refunded upon documentation of the spay/neuter -An application must be submitted before scheduling an appointment to meet a dog -Dogs are introduced to prospective adopters BY APPOINTMENT ONLY -Due to the high volume of emails we receive, first priority will be given to those with submitted applications -All rescue work is done by dedicated volunteers, please be respectful of their time -Not able to adopt?
