Story
Liza & Layla are a bonded pair of Bernedoodle pups, about 4 months old who were likely dumped by a breeder in a rural area and survived for about a month by being fed by farmers in the area until GRRAND was notified and asked to help them! It was very hard capturing them as they are so fearful, but after one getting away, and then found again, we have them both and are trying to help them understand they do not have to fend for themselves and what love is all about! THEY MUST HAVE A SECURE ABOVE GROUND FENCED IN YARD as they are fearful and flight risks, and a home with NO KIDS UNDER the age of 16, as right now, the GRRAND kennel staff say IF you stand very still, and very quiet, they may come up and take a piece of food from you, but they take off again. They are starting to come around and trust people and need a home with folks who have lots of patience and are willing to work with them over time to teach them about life as indoor loved family members. We would be willing to consider separating the littermates, but do not want to leave one behind in the kennel if her sister was to leave, so we are looking for a home that would take both of them and either adopt them as a pair or adopt one and foster the other until another home could be found for her.  If separated, the pups will definitely need homes with another confident young dog that can help them gain their own confidence and show them the ropes. They BOTH LOVE playing with other dogs! With time and patience, they will come around, but need the correct family to help them work through their fears. Please fill out an app at GRRAND.org if you would like to meet Liza and Layla ##2080274##

Story
Hi! I'm Callie. I'm a gorgeous 2+ years old Pyrenees/Lab mix! I arrived at the kennel in late October, so I haven't been there too long. I've had a hard time over the last year. I was a stray for most of that time. A friendly postal worker noticed me and kept an eye on me. Eventually she and another good samaritan trapped me and took me in while they found a great rescue for me to come to. Of course I was very scared and intimidated when I first arrived at GRRAND. I would curl up in the corner of my kennel and not want to come out. But the kennel volunteers would sit with me in my run for hours, calmly petting and reassuring me that everything was about to get so much better - and they were right. Now I get to run and play with a ton of dogs in the play yard. I have so many new friends. I willingly go to the volunteers now for love and treats. We even go walking off-site and they tell me how wonderful I am on a leash. I get to sleep in a nice warm kennel with a blanket. I get two meals a day and as many treats as I can convince the vols to give me. It's so much better than living alone in deserted structures and dumpster diving for food! So I've come a really long way. I'm liking other dogs, trusting people and starting to enjoy life indoors! I think it's time for the next stage of my life where I can move in with a loving family. Could you help get me out of the kennel and into your loving family? I hope so! Callie was initially very scared and withdrawn, but with lots of love and attention from our awesome volunteers, she is starting to come out of her shell.  She is very calm and sweet. Our vet thinks she's around 2.5 years old. She loves to play with most other dogs in the play yards, as long as they are calm and laid-back. We also have her walking on a leash and she's doing wonderfully. She loves to be gently petted.  She is still a little timid with people she doesn't know, but warms as soon as she trusts you.  Until Callie is settled in a home she is going to be a flight risk, so she does need a secure fenced yard. She can scale a 4' fence, so ideally the home will have a 6' privacy fence.  She can go with another calm dog. As she is a flight risk pup she will not be able to go in a home with children under 13. We don't know how she does with cats. She does not mess in her kennel run, which is a decent indication she is house trained, but not a guarantee. Her energy level is moderate to low.  Callie is now ready for her next step, to go to a home, either foster or adoptive. Please fill out an app at GRRAND.org if you would like to meet her! ##1854181##

Story
Lizzie is one of Winter's 10 puppies born Jan 22! They are - the Pride and Prejudice litter! Lizzie is a 9 month old Great Pyrenees mix and has been waiting for her forever family! She is in a new foster home and this is what they have to say:  "Lizzie is what I call an Adnap (Panda spelled backwards because of her reverse Panda markings), 9 months old, very sweet, playful, loves everyone and everything and deserves to find a great home of her own. I cannot fathom why she has lingered for so long! She does have crystals in her urine and will require prescription dog food for urine health, but Purina has it, Hills has it and it is not expensive. She is wonderful!! Lizzie has adjusted nicely since being in our home. She has found success in her crate and was potty trained within the first day- not a single accident in the house! She is respectful of our dog and is learning boundaries with out cats, who she is very interested in, but is showing no signs of aggression to at all. For a 7 month old puppy, this girl has a VERY calm temperament and is walking well on leash. She knows how to sit, and we are now working on other basic commands. Lizzie is a TOTAL Love Bug! She just wants to be near one of us at all times and would love cuddles and belly scratches all day if we would! She is really quite the gem, and will make a wonderful companion to a very happy family"! Any applicant with children under the age of 16, will require a home with direct access to a securely fenced yard... meaning direct access to the yard from the home… so this means no apartments or condos.  Applicants should also expect Winter's puppies to possibly be big, and you should be prepared for that sweet and independent Great Pyrenees personality... to know the Great Pyr breed is to love them, but they are not Goldens, and we suggest you do some research on this beautiful breed before applying! She will need a secure above ground fenced yard as Great Pyrs love to be in their yard to protect and patrol, and this happens best when they are in a secure space!  If you are interested in meeting Lizzie, please fill out an application at GRRAND.org ##1944333##

Story
Arlo is a very handsome 6 year old, 85ish lb, Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix looking for a home where he is the only dog, and has an above ground fenced yard to roam and chill out in like most Great Pyrs love to do. He has full run of the house when his people are away and sleeps wherever he wants at night. He is said to LOVE to cuddle and snuggle, and is really just a great companion! Sadly his people do not have a yard for him anymore and he needs more space and attention, and some work on walking on a leash. Arlo is currently living in his owner’s home with kids aged 2 & 4. We are still learning about this sweet boy, so please check back, but if you would like to meet Arlo in the meantime please fill out an app at GRRAND.org ##2065786##
