Story
Meet Chelly! Chelly came to us as a crisis Foster with her older sister this summer. Chelly hadn’t known a life without her sister up until recently when Layla lost her battle with cancer. Due to a series of unfortunate events, reunifying with her owner is also not in the cards which now makes her up for adoption! Chelly is a big goof! She loves anything food, outside, or snuggles related. Chelly had previously lived on a farm with other animals including dogs, cats, and livestock. Don’t let her love of the outdoors fool you, she wants a nice comfy bed to curl up in at night. Chelly also loves humans of all varieties, she looks at it as an opportunity for more chances to get people food dropped to her. Are you on a hunt for a loyal companion to sit there and judge people that pass by as you both enjoy your porch? Look no further!

Story
Meet Sushi!! Sushi is believed to be a Bernese Mountain dog Australian shepherd beagle mix maybe lab too. Honestly, your guess is as good as ours. What we do know is Sushi is 4 years old. We rescued her from a local shelter last year due to her being labeled behavior. Sushi was very feral fearful and the shelter environment was way more than she could handle. Since Sushi has been with us she has learned to trust, meet people, accept all, and even enjoy human interaction. She has blossomed, learned to trust humans and to walk away if she feels unsure and or scared. Sushi has become a social butterfly and does great with dogs and is cat friendly too. Sushi requires easy intro with dogs, just remind her she is okay and to be nice. She actually listens very well too. Sushi has met and been around hundreds of dogs. She is a fairly easy calm but medium energy active dog. A fence in the yard is preferred, apartment living would be ok as well. As long as she gets her daily walk and exercise. Older children preferred. Sushi will do best with independent calm mellow dogs that will offer space and respect her but also will join her with playful running, again easy intro, or she be just as happy as an only dog. Sushi loves to eat (don't we all) and could lose a few pounds. Sushi enjoys daily walks, trails, swimming, and snuggling with her humans. She loves playing with dog toys with her humans. Sushi would make a great first-time pet owner who is willing to give her 110%. Sushi is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, corona as well as rabies shot, dewormed, fecal tested negative, microchipped, neutered, and current on monthly heartworm flea/tick prevention. Updated: 3/25/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.

Story
Ever have someone tell you your head is in the clouds? Want it to be reality? Meet Handsome Sampson the fluffiest guy around. Sampson came to us extremely malnourished and unsure about if people are trustworthy after being abandoned on a farm with other LGD and all the livestock. Sampson is like a cloud floating around the building as he keeps watch over his herd geriatric small dogs. Sampson likes animals of all shapes and sizes, not sure that he has a mean bone in his body. This big boy likes to spend some time outside, but when he’s hot, the AC is where he truly wants to be. Sampson is house trained and loves people of all shapes and sizes. With the information shared above, adopter should note that we will not adopt to a home that intends to keep him outside. He has had that life, and it was not very kind to him.
