Story
Meet Bear! Bear is 4 years old and weighs 25lbs. Bear's former humans said he is a "bernadoodle," which is a Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle mix. Honestly, we don't know how accurate that is. Bear has fluffy gray fur like a poodle, but is more stout than a poodle. Bear loves to play ball and is great on a leash. He enjoys car rides too. He is good with other dogs, but unknown with cats. Bear looks kind of odd with his coat shaved down but he had matts so we had him totally shaved down. We have included a photo of him with full coat so you can see how he will look when his coat grows out. He did great with the groomer. He loves treats and attention. He likes to be around his person. Bear was surrendered by his family to a high kill shelter because he bit a neighbor kid. The bite did not break the skin nor did it require medical attention. His former owners noted that Bear did not like the wife in the family and was not fond of children in general. Bear has been a good boy with us, but he does have food guarding and will growl and bare teeth if his food bowl is removed. If the bowl is empty, then he doesn't care if it is removed. Bear is not crate trained and becomes very stressed while crated. Bear would do best as an only dog or in a home with submissive dogs who can be fed separately. Bear is housetrained but has not figured out how to use a doggy door yet. We will not adopt Bear to a home with children or where children will be visiting. Bear is a great dog who just wants love and his own person. For an application to foster or adopt Bear, please email stmartinsanimalrescue@hotmail.com

Story
Hailey is about 8 years old and weighs about 18 pounds. She has had a hard life and is time for her to spend the rest of her years in comfort. She was on the streets for a while, so her hair was matted, covered with ticks, her body had many foxtails embedded including her ears and mouth. Her skin was in bad shape. But now her skin has healed, hair growing back, she has had a dental and her ears treated. Now she is ready for her loving forever home. She deserves to be the only dog in her home. Hailey needs to have a fenced yard to call her own. To meet Hailey, fill out the application at the bottom of our available dogs page on OFOSA.ORG and we will arrange a meeting to see if you and her are a good match. Her adoption fee is $280 for a fully vetted girl..

Story
This is Oscar! He is about 2 years old and about 10 1/2 pounds. Oscar is a playful, energetic, loving boy who just wants to be with his people. He would love an active household to play with! Oscar has two settings: play mode or cuddle mode. After a round of play, he will fall asleep in your arms as you pet him. He is decent on a leash but could use more socializing and leash training. Other than wanting to be the dominant dog, Oscar has been great with the other dogs in his foster home! They play all day long. He hasn’t been around cats.He is a little suspicious of strangers at first but once he knows them he will be their best friend. Oscar would be good in a home with other friendly dogs and kids older than 5 (he is still learning gentle manners). To meet Oscar please fill out the application at the bottom of the available dogs page on OFOSA.ORG His adoption fee is #320 for a neutered, chipped and up to date on shots, little boy.
