Story
This handsome and gentle boy is learning how great rescue life can be and is exploring at his own pace. Cooper prefers the comforts of home and loves being indoors next to his people. He reliably does his business outside and has shown to have wonderful house manners. He is great with children but may retreat if they are too loud, and he has shown no interest in chasing or bothering cats. He is polite but indifferent to other dogs, preferring to observe rather than engage in play. Fascinated by birds and squirrels, he watches them curiously but never pursues them. A true cuddle bug, he loves to sleep close to his human at night and prefers the couch or bed over dog beds. While Cooper has a habit of relocating shoes and socks, he doesn’t chew on them, and he occasionally nibbles his foster dad’s fingers during cuddle sessions. A quiet observer, he enjoys watching the world through the window but has been known to bark at his own reflection at night ("hey! there's a strange dog staring back at me!". Intelligent and curious, he isn’t particularly food-motivated—unless hot dogs are involved! Cooper's ideal home would have a calm environment with patient owners who can help him build confidence at his own pace along with a fenced yard. Cooper is a Bernese Mountain Dog/English Setter mix (our best guess of breeds) who was was born approximately 12-12-22 and weighs 50 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested heartworm negative and started on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $400 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
