Story
We acquired Bruce (purebred Serengeti) in 2018 as he was my dad’s cat, and my dad suddenly passed away. We think Bruce is now about 13 years old. Since we had our son in 2022 he has been reclusive and hides in the basement most of the time. Even more so since we welcomed our second child last year. He is very shy at first but then very cuddly, vocal, and attached to his “people”. Bruce is looking for a home without young kids or dogs, and for an owner who can give him the love and attention he deserves. Bruce is on special food and requires a transdermal steroid daily.

Story
Nala’s new adventure!Nala recently arrived at EHS as a rescue who is ready for a fresh start. ABOUT NALA- In foster- Beautiful Nala is a brown Bengal mix with a curious and mysterious personality. While she likes to hide during the day, her foster reports that Nala likes to play with her toys at night as they sleep.- As a skittish cat with minimal experience with humans, Nala will need time and patience as she warms up to her new family and environment. - With the help of a foster family, Nala is on a journey to adapt to a new environment and become more comfortable around people.- Some skittish cats may remain reserved, while others may express their trust and affection in a variety of ways.- Nala is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.NALA’S IDEAL HOME- A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children.- Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Nala settle into her new environment. If needed, EHS will offer post-adoption support to assist Nala with a successful transition to her forever home.Nala’s next chapter is just beginning, and she will need a safe and supportive environment as it unfolds. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to resilient Nala, apply to adopt her today! If you have any questions about Nala or the adoption process, please contact cats@etobicokehumanesociety.com

Story
This is Sterling. Do you see that twinkle in her eyes? It’s a fun mix of playful, chatty and mischievous energy all in a small exotic cat package! Sterling is a 2-year-old girl who may be a Bengal or a Bengal mix. Her striking good looks may have you see past all the fun she enjoys around the home! This girl LOVES water play. Her foster family shares that if you leave a toilet seat up, Sterling will be in there to play with the toilet bowl water. If that’s not available, this athletic girl also knows to find water in the sink! Sterling is very social and likes to follow her people around the home chatting about her plans for the day. Sterling has an adventurous side and craves exciting new ways to explore the world around her and every part of the home. Sterling will need a home and family who know how to handle her liveliness and energy. Sterling lives in foster care with other cats and a cat-savvy dog, and seems to get along with them. She loves to groom the younger kittens! If you know about Bengal cats, you know they are a unique cat breed that will need a special home. An experienced home that will provide her with mental and physical stimulation to keep her high energy from getting too pent up and know how to read her behavioural signs. Sterling found herself with Home at Last Rescue when she was found abandoned at a garbage dump, pregnant. She was a great mom to her babies, but now it’s time for her to find her forever home at last. This charming girl is ready to inspire you to play, get moving, and share in some lively fun. If you enjoy the company of a curious and clever cat, Sterling might be the perfect companion for you. As we often receive numerous applications for each cat or kitten, we will only contact applicants who best suit the needs of the cat or kitten. For example, if it is stipulated that the cat needs another cat buddy at home and you do not have one, you may not receive a response. Finding the best home for our cat or kitten is our top priority. Applications are not first-come, first-served.

Story
VI, F/S, BENGAL, BLACK AND BROWNBORN-AUG/07/2022Vi – Brilliant, Curious Bengal Mix with a Heart Full of LoveVi is a stunning Bengal mix whose intelligence and sweetness shine in everything she does. Confident, affectionate, and endlessly curious, she loves to explore and thoroughly investigate her surroundings. She happily greets new people at the door—strangers are simply new friends to Vi, and she trots right over to be petted and admired.Vi enjoys being picked up and carried around and thrives on close contact. She frequently asks for petting and can’t get enough of a good scratch. She’s wonderfully tolerant and trusting, allowing her paws and tail to be petted and patiently accepting brushing over most of her body.Playtime is one of Vi’s greatest joys. She adores interactive games, especially chasing springs (which she proudly plays fetch with!), laser play, and clever enrichment activities like retrieving toys from a cardboard box. An elastic shoelace is also a top-tier treasure in her world. When she’s not playing, Vi loves to be near her person—watching you work at your desk, coloring alongside you, or gazing outside with quiet fascination.Vi always comes when you’re in the room and even comes when called. Her favorite place to sleep is tucked under the blankets, where she snuggles in close and feels most content. Vi prefers to be the only cat in the home, where she can soak up all the attention she deserves. She is affectionate, playful, fearless, and deeply engaged with her people—a truly special cat who makes every day brighter.Location- Foster Program (if interested in a meet and greet, kindly fill out a no obligation Adoption Agreement and arrangements will be made)
