Story
Hi there! I’m Maddox, a senior German Shepherd/Belgian Tervuren mix who’s been given a second chance at life, thanks to some wonderful humans. I used to be on the euthanasia list at a shelter, but now I’m looking for my forever home, and I hope it’s with you! I get along great with other dogs my size and I absolutely love kids and people of all ages. Cats? Not so much, but hey, nobody’s perfect! I’m an easy walker and enjoy short bursts of energy, so if you’re looking for a laid-back, loyal friend, I’m your guy. Plus, you won’t have to deal with any of that pesky puppy chewing phase with me. If you’re interested in meeting me, come visit me at Family Animal Hospital, 1 Oaktree Street, Friendswood, TX 77546. You can also call 281-482-1594 to set up a time to get to know me. To make sure we’re a perfect match, you can fill out an adoption questionnaire at [bit.ly/starlightadopt](https://bit.ly/starlightadopt). My adoption fee is $200. I can’t wait to find my new family and share all my love and fluffy cuddles with them! 🐾

These pups are in Katy, Texas too!

Story
Est DOB: 1/8/22, GSD mix, male, currently 75 lbs +, neutered, up-to-date on all his vaccinations, heart-worm negative and microchipped Meet Haribo!  (Hari for short) This incredibly handsome boy was born into the rescue on Jan. 8, 2022.   He is a happy, goofy boy with a lot of personality.  Haribo and his sister Honor were both born with a congenital issue called Megaesophogus.  Basically his esophagus is too large to move food adequately from his mouth to his stomach so he just eats differently that others.     When it’s feeding time, Hari sits in a special chair called a Bailey chair.  Haribo is a clever boy who knows how to get into his chair for feeding times all on his own.   He does very well eating and sitting in the chair for 20 minutes afterwards.   He eats twice a day and has been eating Royal Canin.   Like his sister Honor,  his Megaesophogus is easily managed with an inexpensive drug called Sildenafil.  He gets 50 mg a day. (25 mg in the a.m. and p.m.)   Haribo is great on a leash, loves to play with his sister and likes to play fetch.  He loves getting attention and will nuzzle your hands to get a nice petting.  He likes walks around the lakes in his foster family’s neighborhood and is interested in the ducks and squirrels but doesn’t try to chase.  He is in a foster home with other dogs and school aged children that he does well with. Haribo is in a foster home with other dogs and school aged children that he does well with.  Please consider making this handsome boy a member of your family. As we are a foster based rescue, we do require a completed application to be submitted before we arrange a meet.  This can be found on our website at :  https://almosthomepetrescue.org/apply-now-1   $200 (including tax) adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heart worm test (in dogs over 6 months of age), microchip and registration, spay/neuter, wormer and flea and heart worm prevention while the dog is in our care. All breed and size categorizations are estimates. If transporting out of state, the total adoption cost will be $500. This amount is inclusive of adoption fee, transport fee, health certificate, and taxes. October 12, 2024, 8:57 pm

Story
Est DOB: 1/8/22, GSD mix, female, currently 75 lbs +, spayed, up-to-date on all her vaccinations, heart-worm negative and she is microchipped.   Meet Honor! Honor is a gorgeous girl who was born into the rescue on Jan. 8, 2022.  She has always been a happy, playful pup.  A few months after being born Honor was diagnosed with Megaesophogus, a condition that affects the way food moves from her mouth to her stomach.   Honor is just like any other dog except that she requires a special chair to sit in to eat.  She has her own Bailey chair that she is trained to get in and out of it on her own that would go with her to her new family.  She is a very smart girl and she does very well in her chair when she eats and stays for 20 minutes afterwards.    Honor eats twice a day and has been eating Royal Canin.   Honor’s Megaesophogus is easily managed with an inexpensive drug called Sildenafil.  She gets 50 mg. a day. (25 mg in the a.m. and p.m.)     Honor loves to play with her brother Haribo, who was also born with Megaesophogus.   She enjoys walks and taking little dips in her foster family’s pool.  Honor is affectionate, sweet and silly and likes to chase leaves and toss pine cones into the air.  She is smart and very attentive and would be an amazing addition to any family.   Honor is spayed, up-to-date on all her vaccinations, heart-worm negative and she is microchipped.   Please consider making this adorable girl a member of your family.
