Story
Hi there! I’m Maddox, a senior German Shepherd/Belgian Tervuren mix who’s been given a second chance at life, thanks to some wonderful humans. I used to be on the euthanasia list at a shelter, but now I’m looking for my forever home, and I hope it’s with you! I get along great with other dogs my size and I absolutely love kids and people of all ages. Cats? Not so much, but hey, nobody’s perfect! I’m an easy walker and enjoy short bursts of energy, so if you’re looking for a laid-back, loyal friend, I’m your guy. Plus, you won’t have to deal with any of that pesky puppy chewing phase with me. If you’re interested in meeting me, come visit me at Family Animal Hospital, 1 Oaktree Street, Friendswood, TX 77546. You can also call 281-482-1594 to set up a time to get to know me. To make sure we’re a perfect match, you can fill out an adoption questionnaire at [bit.ly/starlightadopt](https://bit.ly/starlightadopt). My adoption fee is $200. I can’t wait to find my new family and share all my love and fluffy cuddles with them! 🐾

These pups are in Alvin, Texas too!

Story
Hey there! My name is Boaz, but you can call me Bo. I’m a 5-year-old German Shepherd, neutered and heartworm positive, but don’t worry—I’ve started my treatment and will be back to bouncing and playing with my foster siblings before you know it!I was found by my foster dad on the streets of 521, pretty hungry and weak, weighing just 50 lbs. My foster mom says I need to pack on a few pounds and that I’m a total sweetheart!  She says I don’t have a mean bone in my body, I just haven’t quite figured out how to be a dog yet. I’m still learning, but I’m getting there!I get along well with other dogs, though I’m a bit shy at first and take my time warming up. I adore my 12-year-old foster human—seriously, I follow her everywhere she’ll let me! And yes, I have a special place in my heart for her. If you're wondering, I’m potty trained and have leash training (I like walking on the left side only, thanks!). Oh, and I even know how to use bells on the door to let my foster family know when I need to go outside—pretty cool, huh?But here’s the deal—I really need a fenced yard to go potty. I know, it’s a little weird, but I’m stubborn like that! I’ll happily go potty in my own backyard, but I haven’t figured out how to do it on a leash yet, no matter how many walks we go on. I’ll hold it until I get home, so a fenced yard is a must for me!I’m not one to get into trouble or destroy anything, and I don’t get on the furniture (though I do have a bit of an “I want all the space” attitude when it comes to getting up close and personal). My foster mom is working on helping me learn to accept affection, especially head kisses and ear rubs. I’m still getting used to all that, but I think I secretly like it (don’t tell her!).Food? Yeah, I’m not super into it. I’m a grazer, which means I nibble a little and then take a break. My foster mom jokes that I have ADHD, but hey, I just get distracted easily! She’s working on getting me to eat more regularly, but we’re taking it slow.Traveling? Short car trips are fine, but longer rides stress me out a bit. I’m not a fan of anything over an hour, but my foster family is being patient and helping me get used to it.I’m a typical GSD in the sense that I get excited and squeaky when I’m happy (especially when I have my barbell toy in my mouth!), and I will bark at strangers at the door - if my foster sister starts it first. I’m also known to bark at my fence friends and try to get them to come play. But outside of that, I’m pretty chill and tend to keep to myself.I’m not your average German Shepherd, though—I’m not protective or territorial at all, and I’m not aggressive with toys. I’m still figuring out what it means to be part of a family, but I know that’s what I really want.My foster mom says I’ll never be cut out for the service industry (ha, guess I’m just not that type of worker), but Ido need a loving and patient home. Ideally, I’d love another furry friend around my age to help me learn how to just be a dog for the first time in my life. So, if you're looking for a sweet, loyal, and patient companion who’s still learning the ropes, I just might be the guy for you! Please visit our site at https://www.jennisrescueranch.org/ for more information on how to adopt.
