Story
What an absolute sweetheart of a dog Sonnet is! This girl will charm her way right into your heart!
Sonnet just landed in her foster home and is already settling in and making herself right at home.
What do we know about this girl:
Found as a stray, no owners ever were found or came forward. Finders took her in and cared for her until she found her way to MAD
About a year old. Spayed and UTD on vaccines
Incredibly sweet, docile, and friendly
Good with children
Good with dogs. Loves to run and play with her foster fur brother, a male husky, and have become fast friends. Lived with 2 female dogs at the finder’s home
Reported to be good with cats
Loves to sniff and explore her surroundings
Seems to be housebroken. We’re not quite sure yet, but she did hold her bladder for an incredible amount of time during her transport journey
Crates easily. Seems to enjoy having a safe space to retreat to
Perfect car rider
The things she will need to work on:
Confidence building. Loud noises spook her and she will bolt
Basic obedience. She’s well mannered, just doesn’t seem to know any commands
Leash manners

MAD dogs that are intact at the time of adoption will be required to be spayed/neutered within 60 days of adoption. For puppies, sterilization must occur by 6 months of age. Vasectomies and tubal ligation are accepted forms of sterilization in lieu of a traditional spay/neuter surgery.

MAD is an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location. Our mailing address is in Michigan, however, our dogs are in private foster homes across the continental US. The state location of each dog is posted with the name of the pet in the title description. We do not disclose exact location of the dogs for the safety of our foster homes and the dogs. If you are located within 4 hours of the pet, please be prepared to pick up the pet. For greater distances, MAD does offer transport assistance for up to 350 miles for the adopter, however transport is primarily on the responsibility of the adopter.
The basic information that we have available is in this posting, but updates are often first posted on the MAD Rescue Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/groups/malinoisanddutchshepherdrescueinc.
