Story
Meet Lucy, a beautiful and charismatic 1 y/o Mal mix! We rescued Lucy from a high-kill shelter in LA with less than 1 hour left before she was to be euthanized - all because she had developed an upper respiratory infection at the shelter. Lucy is a happy-go-lucky girl with a strong but gentle demeanor who LUVs and plays hard. This babe is athletic and brave but also affectionate, curious, and dignified. Lucy will need a home that can match her activity level. She thrives when she has a job - whether that's training, a game of fetch, or helping her foster dad work and run errands. She LUVs going on hikes, bike rides and skateboading with her foster dad, learning and mastering new skills, and socializing. Lucy is a frequent guest at local coffee shops where she enjoys hanging out while her foster dad works. Lucy joined our Rescue Director and her dogs after leaving the shelter. She did great with her foster fur siblings, playing and lounging around with them, and with other dogs she meets on her adventures. She loves nothing more than to be by her persons side. This babe has it going on! Her brains and beauty aid in maiking her the pawfect companion. We haven't been able to test her with kids yet so for the time being, we're recommending she goes to a home with older, calmer kids who are experienced with dogs. Story
[Located in Seattle] Honey is a beautiful 5 year young GSD who had a ruff start to life. You could see it in her body, her eyes, her skin + fur, and her poorly neglected ears + teeth We don't know where she was before the shelter or how she ended up in the shelter but she looks like another beautiful dog who was overbred + then dumped by the only family she knew when they couldn't use her anymore. Thankfully, we were able to pull Honey from the shelter with only 15 minutes left before her final notice expired.  As soon as we got Honey out of the shelter and into her foster home, she became a different dog - calm, trusting, + luving. Honey continues to come out of her shell with her doting foster. She enjoys going for walks, has a healthy appetite, is house-trained, and the sweetest luv bug who adores humans!  Honey is being fostered with 3 other dogs (raining in size from small to large) and does great with them - no resource or food guarding, can eat out of the same bowl as the other dogs, and shares her space and bones. She can live with other dogs with slow and proper introductions, and time to adjust to her new home and fur siblings. Honey also lives with a cat and has shown little interest in the cat. We recommend her going to a home without kids or with older, calm, and dog-experienced kids because we don't know if she had any experience with kids before we rescued her and hasn't had any exposure to them with her foster. Meet one of our howliday LUVs, Jeff. He's a 2 y/o, 75+ lb (and still putting on weight), goofy, confident Mal mix who is need of an experienced foster or adopter. We believe Jeff was purchased from a greed/breeder and improperly “trained” to be a protection dog. When he became “too much” he was forced to live outside until he escaped or was abandoned. ⁣ ⁣ What we originally thought was a fear of men seems to be an instinctual reaction to protect and guard his person/people. Jeff LUVs the ladies (and the ladies LUV him) but requires slow and proper introductions with men. Thankfully, Jeff is very food motivated - he LUVs Jiffy peanut butter, how he got his name), and does well being introduced and socialized with men using food as a tool. ⁣ ⁣ More about Jeff - ⁣ • He’s a total melt-at-your-feet type of dog for LUV once he’s determined you’re part of his circle ⁣ • He’s extremely alert and aware of all surroundings⁣ • He shuts down from leash pressure and will need someone who can continue working with him on his loose leash skill⁣ • Very smart ⁣ • Muzzle trained and is getting really good at having his muzzle on if he’s doing something like walking or training⁣ • He quickly learned the word “toy” and “ball” and will go get it when you tell him to⁣ ⁣ From his foster - ⁣ “𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦, 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴, 𝘑𝘦𝘧𝘧 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘱𝘶𝘱 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘤𝘶𝘥𝘥𝘭𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘨 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴.”⁣ All Mutt Luv Rescue pups receive a full health checkup, heartworm and parasite testing, are fully vaccinated, microchipped, and s/n before they're adopted.
