Story
We are on the search for a very special home for Nelly, one with either a calm mellow dog or no dog as she should be exercise restricted and a laid back home. Sweet Nelly wasn't dealt the best cards with her health but we are determined to give her the very best life she can have. Nelly is an affectionate and energetic German Shepherd mix, about 18 months old. Despite her young age, she's already making great strides in learning how to interact with other dogs and respecting their cues when she becomes too excited. As a baby, Nelly is still working on sharing her toys, crate, food bowl, and backyard space with the birds. She's naturally curious and may bark at unfamiliar people or things as she gets used to new experiences. She is house trained and crate trained! She has an endearing tendency to tattle on her foster brother if he misbehaves, barking at him and gently nibbling on his ears. Despite her active nature, she can only sustain play for short periods due to her heart condition. She would love home without another dog, or a dog that will be calm and not play much with her. She also needs a home without any young children Here are some of Nelly's nicknames and her likes and dislikes: **Nicknames:** - Nells Bells - Nelly Fertado - Ms. Fertado - Smelly Nelly - Neller - Nelly Nibbles - Noisy Nelly - Woah Nelly **Likes:** - Chewing on bones - Playing - Being chased - Pets from her humans - Being outside - Squeaky balls - CUDDLES **Dislikes:** - The vacuum (she barks at it and sometimes tries to "chomp" it) - Sharing her items - When other dogs bother her in her crate - Cats Nelly is a lovable and lively German Shepherd mix who's eager to find her forever home. With her friendly demeanor, she's sure to bring joy and excitement to any family. If you're looking for an energetic pup who's making great progress in her training and ready to share lots of affection, Nelly could be the perfect addition to your home. If you think Nelly is a good fit for your family, don't wait—apply today to give this sweet puppy the loving home she deserves! Nelly has been diagnosed with Severe Aortic Stenosis as well as a severely damaged valve in her heart. Aortic Stenosis is a narrowing of the aortic value, which is the gateway between the heart's main chamber and the main artery that pushes blood out to the rest of the body. This narrowing causes the heart to have to work harder to push blood out to the rest of the body. It is a genetic and hereditary condition that she was born with, and sadly does not come with the greatest long term prognosis. As the disease progresses, she could experience lethargy, exercise intolerance, difficulty breathing, coughing, collapse, and sadly even sudden death. We know someone out there is willing and able to give this loving pup the amazing, albeit shortened, life that she deserves

Story
💗It is the month of love so…. if you are looking for a loyal companion with a dash of mischief? Look no further, we think Maverick might just be your perfect match! This handsome dude is a bundle of energy and affection, ready to fill your days with fun and your evenings with cuddles.👐 Maverick is 10 months old, 90 pounds of love and an adorableness (German Shepherd x Retriever is our best guess!) 👉This guy is still learning the ropes (pun intended!) when it comes to leash walks. He's making great progress with his halty and loves exploring familiar neighborhoods, but new sights and sounds can get him excited. This pooch's interactions with other dogs have been a bit… spirited. He's shown some leash reactivity and his off-leash encounters have been more bark than bite (literally!), he would thrive in a home as an inky dog child! We are looking for a patient owner who's willing to continue his training and help him become the best walking buddy ever. Maverick's doesn't do so well with younger kiddos, so would recommend an home with older dog-savvy kids or none at all. He does have a strong prey drive, so recommend a cat-free home for him too. Maverick loves his kennel! It's his safe space, his happy place, and where he snoozes the night away. He even goes in there voluntarily! 🚽He's also a house-trained superstar with not a single accident! Maverick will let you know when he needs to go outside. Get ready to put "indestructible toys" to the test, Stuffed animals, cardboard boxes, you name it, he loves to deconstruct it. But his absolute favorite games? Tug-of-war and "chase me"! Showers, baths, pools, the running tap – Maverick's a water enthusiast! 💧 Get ready for some serious cuddles! Maverick loves to plop down on your feet, lean against your legs, and shower you with affection. Belly rubs are his absolute favorite!🥰 Some more fun facts about Maverick: 🧠A quick learner who already knows a bunch of commands. 🍗A meat lover through and through! Keep those turkey legs out of reach! 😁Happy to share his food and treats and shows no resource guarding. 🏃He is an energetic dog that needs his daily dose of exercise, including walks, playtime, and mental stimulation.

Story
WeMeet Gus! 🐾 A loyal, cuddle-loving companion with a gorgeous brindle coat that'll have you swooning. Gus is around 2 years old, likely a Shepherd mix, and weighs about 70 lbs of pure devotion. This handsome boy forms strong bonds with his people and is ready to be your shadow. Gus is crate-trained, food-motivated (no chicken though please! he's allergic! 🐔❌) and listens like a champ. This sensitive guy loves the outdoors 🌲, snow ❄️, and curling up for snuggles after a long day. 🤗 Gus thrives in a home where he is showered with love by his people! While he's great with cats, other animals, and dogs, we recommend a proper introduction as Gus' does sometimes exhibit protective instincts. In the house, he's as low-maintenance as they come, content to relax and enjoy his family's company without needing constant stimulation. 😴 If you're looking for a devoted sidekick who'll shower you with loyalty, warmth, and affection, Gus is your guy. He's got a heart of gold and just needs the right family to share it with. 💕 🐶 Gus has not been tested with kids.
