Story
Hi - I'm Tazz Barry! Originally from California as a stray, I was brought here to Wisconsin to make room for animals that were displaced from the wildfires. Intelligent, energetic, playful - these are all words to describe this handsome Belgian Malinois! If you have any experience with this breed, you know that training is a must! I am not for the first-time dog owner, but what I will say is that we are incredibly smart and driven! Training would be fulfilling and rewarding! I am pretty jumpy and high-energy, so I would require an active home that can keep up with me. Because of my typical Malinois tendencies, I would do be best with older children in my home. I have been involved in play groups with other dogs in the past. I was a little standoffish with some dogs though, so we would need to be properly introduced to each other and be a good match if I were to share my home with another dog. If you are looking for a dog to grow a strong bond with, maybe I may be the boy for you! Please visit the shelter and ask to meet me! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 71 Age: 1yrs 10mths 3wks

Intake Reason: Transferred in from Louisiana Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Unknown ·Kids: UnknownWeight: 56 poundsFun Facts About Me:•I am an active boy with a heart of gold. Even though I am fully grown, I have quite a bit of “puppy” exuberance.•I need to work on being a little less mouthy and learn not to jump up on people; what can I say, I like to hug folks•I am very smart, like to learn and would enjoy a job or two; perhaps we can take obedience classes together, get involved in rally or participate in agility or dog parkour.•I already know the cues for ‘sit’ and ‘paw/shake’; I can also catch treats in midair.•I am a playful and loving dude who would enjoy many snuggle sessions with you.•I have met a couple rowdy pooches at WCHS that I have had a blast with in play group – yahoo!#2

Story
·Intake Reason: Transferred from another shelter -Weight: Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Unknown ·Kids: UnknownPuppies are magnificent! I am cute, rambunctious, lively and fun. I have so much to learn, discover and explore - just a tiny sponge who is ready to absorb everything you have to teach me and show me. I am counting on you to help me safely navigate the world and experience new things each day to allow me to grow into a confident young dog. That isn’t as exotic and daunting a task as it might sound. Each day I just need to be introduced to one new thing like the sound of a vacuum, a blender or a door bell, walking up and down a step, a ride in a car, hearing a motorcycle or a truck, going somewhere to see new people, even maneuvering a fallen log on a walk. You get the idea, so many things that seem common to you are completely new to me. Speaking of growing, I may be tiny now but I do plan on getting bigger so I would love to take obedience classes to learn proper manners and social skills. I also know I have to practice something called house-training so I know proper potty behavior. A routine and lots of yummy treats and praise will go a long way to helping me master house-training when I potty outside. Puppies and dogs need love, exercise, mental stimulation and consistency to be healthy, happy and confident. I am typically very open to all sorts of housemates; I can be a bit mischievous and may find any other critter as a potential playmate so they will need to understand that about me. I often explore the world with my mouth and while I am teething I like to chew; my little puppy teeth are very sharp so if I am around children we should always be supervised. It is important that children learn about respecting me, too, and treat me gently because I am fragile. Raising a puppy is a big responsibility, a lot of work, and it may interrupt your sleep cycle for a bit, but a courteous and well-behaved dog is certainly worth the investment and I promise to be loyal, love you unconditionally and be a companion forever. I just know I will bring joy and laughter into your home and cannot wait to meet you. Let the adventures begin!#1
