Meet Abby, a delightful gal who's sure to win your heart with her sweet and playful nature. She's a 7-month-old Belgian Malinois and Shepherd mix who's always ready to make you laugh. She weighs 40 pounds now and we expect her to gain another 10-15 pounds. Abby's friendly demeanor extends to her canine peers, making her a wonderful companion for other dogs. Her short coat of tan and white is low maintenance, which is perfect for those who prefer easy grooming. Abby's infectious spirit and lovable personality make her the ideal addition to any family! Adopt Abby, and bring home not just a pet, but a loyal friend who will fill your life with joy, laughter, and unconditional love! Adoption Fee $395 (ME, 7/10/24) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed, is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. Story
Schön means beautiful in German and uniquely beautiful she is! SSR rescued her as a neglected stray in Oklahoma. She burns calories like a typical high-energy Mal, experience with the breed is recommended. Schon will need more training, her ball and food drive will be sure to make training easier. She will fit best with an active lifestyle adopter who can give her purpose and keep her busy. This sweet and smart girl loves attention and is a 5-star space invader! Schon gives great hugs too! She gets along with other dogs, but tries to be dominate to dogs her size or smaller. No cats for this lady! This beautiful girl is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations, crate trained, and housebroken. Her unique nose poses no health concerns. This forty pound "pocket rocket" is ready to find her forever family. Catch her if you can! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  If you are an approved adopter and are interested in this dog, please let your case worker know. Story
Meet Mussa, a sweet Belgian Malinois with a unique twist—one adorable, quirky deformed ear that only adds to her charm! Mussa is as nice as they come, making her a joy to walk with her easy-going nature. She`s also very trainable, always eager to learn new things! When she`s not strutting her stuff on walks, Mussa loves tummy rubs and rolling around in the grass.Mussa is totally house trained and her foster family says she has all the basic commands mastered. She`s been excellent around children and the elderly. Unlike most Malinois dogs, Mussa is chill and cuddly and isn`t bouncing off the walls.Mussa does like to collect things from around her foster family`s home, but have no fear- she`s not chewing on them, she`s just snuggling with them. So if you adopt Mussa and are looking for one of your shoes or that jar of peanuts, you might want to go see if Mussa`s decided she needs some items to nest with.If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’ll keep you smiling with her playful personality, Mussa is your girl! Reach out to her foster family to learn more or go ahead and submit an adoption questionnaire!

If so, Akiro might be the perfect addition to your family. Akiro is a sweet, shy boy who has faced more than his share of challenges. This gentle soul needs a special kind of adopter—someone who can provide the time and care required to help him overcome his fears and become the confident, loving companion he’s meant to be. Akiro will thrive best with someone experienced in handling anxious dogs. He needs a patient and understanding approach as he builds trust at his own pace. A calm and steady home environment will help him feel secure, and a predictable routine will make him more comfortable and confident. Positive reinforcement training is crucial for helping Akiro work through his fears. With gentle guidance, he can learn to approach new experiences with greater ease. Building trust with Akiro is a gradual process, so a dedicated owner who is committed to spending quality time with him and introducing him to new things slowly is essential. Once Akiro feels safe, he will reveal his deep affection and loyalty. His gentle nature will shine through as he begins to trust you. He enjoys quiet moments and will thrive in a serene home environment where he can relax and feel at ease. Important Note: Commitment Required Due to Akiro’s sensitive nature and the dedication needed for his development, we are not accepting returns for him. Akiro’s progress is delicate, and it’s essential that he finds a stable, committed home where he can continue his journey without interruption. Akiro needs an owner who is ready to invest in his training and socialization. Moving between homes can disrupt his progress, lead to separation anxiety, and hinder his development. If you’re prepared to offer Akiro a stable and loving environment and are committed to his ongoing growth, we invite you to consider adopting him. Your dedication will play a crucial role in helping Akiro become the confident and happy companion he’s meant to be. __________________________________If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application.Apply to adopt at: www.nerdypaws.org Nerdy Paws Animal Rescue is a foster based rescue in Springfield, VA. We do not have a shelter, all of our animals are in foster homes. We require all potential adopters to fill out an application before setting up a meeting with the animal and their foster family.
