Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello all, I am Libby Custer. I am a spayed purebred Belgian Malinois just over 1 years old and 58 pounds. My foster pawrents are working with me to be the best girl. Before finding my foster home, my pawrents don’t think I ever got to be a dog. I have experienced so many firsts in the time I have spent out of the shelter. I have not mastered leash skills yet, but I am working on them every day. Can you blame me? Who doesn’t get excited to see new people and animals!! My hairy foster sisters tolerate me, they are old, I am not! I would be best in a home with a young pup who has energy like me. I would also do great as a solo pup with an active family. I love to see new places and things! I have yet to meet kids. As I am high energy, my foster mom thinks dog savvy kids or older kids who know boundaries would be best for me. I am crate trained and potty trained . I am good in my crate for 9+ hours a day while my pawrents work. I am really into treat puzzles and Kong’s..hint hint! Are you as excited to meet me as I am to meet you? Apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 6, 2024, 12:47 am

Mabel Marie is super smart and incredibly connected to her person, making her the ultimate doggy partner. She's a pro at training and already knows all the basics like sit, come, leave it, and more. Plus, she walks like a dream on a leash, staying attentive to her handler every step of the way. But don't think Mabel Marie is all work and no play! She's just medium-energy and enjoys a bit of exercise each day to keep her happy. Whether it's hanging out on the couch for a Netflix marathon, exploring the yard, or going for leash walks and car rides, she's up for anything as long as she's with you. What Mabel Marie loves most of all is hearing how good she is – your praise and positive vibes mean the world to her. She's motivated by your connection and wants nothing more than to be your faithful sidekick. While she's lived with other dogs and kids and enjoys playing with both, a home without small animals is best for her. Whether she joins a family or becomes your one and only, Mabel Marie is looking for someone who's home a lot – she's not a fan of extended crate time and misses you when you're apart. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Three Little Pitties Rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 10,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes. Sombra Landmark

Story
This black beauty is Sombra, which means “shadow” in Spanish. We called her that because of her coloring, but she soon lived up to her name, following us all around the house just wanting to be near. She is around 3 years old and 66 lbs currently Sombra was found with a rusty chain around her neck, that had been caught on a tree stump out in the county. She had escaped being chained up and neglected in someone’s yard only to be trapped again… there was no question as to what we had to do - we brought her home, cleaned her up and cared for her. She is healthy and honing her social skills. She is a true social butterfly and has never met a stranger. She loves people and gets so excited when she meets someone new, male or female. Sombra lives with 3 other dogs (two blue heelers and a chihuahua) plus two cats. Sombra would do best with a dog friendly cat, as she wants to play with them and can chase to instigate play. Sombra has also spent time making friends at doggy day care and weekend boarding. She is loyal, smart, and charmingly stubborn! Sombra can still be anxious in new places or at the vet so will need a family with patience to help her build confidence in her new environment! She also lives with two small children, ages 3 & 5, and Sombra loves their cuddles and attention. She is respectful of their size and space, and will lay with them or let them lay with her and squish on her face. Sombra loves her daily walks, usually two separate laps a day around the neighborhood. She loves to chew her soft squeakers, rip apart her stuffed animals and wander the yard for “snacks”. But her favorite thing is just being near you. As said, she lives up to being a sombra, a shadow. She will lay by you in your office as you work from home, she’ll follow you around as your do laundry and dishes, she’ll lay on the floor/couch/bed as you watch a movie. Sombra would do best with someone home throughout the day because she loves her people so much! She would do best in a home with a family who wants to do training, agility, or a fun dog sport with her. She loves to use her mind. She can be vocal so no apartments for this girl. Sombra is going to make a great companion for someone and/or their family. She would be good with other dogs, confident cats or kids. Her new humans need to be confident and consistent, but most of all love her! She is a beautiful presence deserving of love. The adoption fee is $800 and includes all vetting per our veterinarian: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery, flea prevention, 2-6 months of heartworm preventative according to age, heartworm testing and heartworm treatment if applicable, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there!
