Duke is a striking Malinois/Shepherd mix with a playful spirit and a loyal heart. This spunky boy is the perfect match for an active home that can keep up with his energy and love for adventure. Duke thrives with human interaction and lights up when playing with his canine foster siblings - especially if there's a ball involved! He's absolutely ball-obsessed and will happily chase and pounce like a pro. While he's not much of a cuddler, he loves attention and always wants to be part of the action. He isn't a fan of raised voices, though, so a calm but active environment suits him best. He's doing great with basic obedience training and walks well on a leash (although he's still learning how not to weave!). Duke is remarkably smart, but like most working breeds he's also a bit stubborn, so he'll do best with someone who's confident, patient, and consistent. He's happy-go-lucky in his foster home and learning to be brave in new environments. He's house-trained, crate-trained, and rides like a dream in the car! Duke does well with other dogs and would benefit from continued structure and enrichment. He is neutered and UTD on vaccines. Poppy is a young Malinois/German Shepherd mix who was abandoned out in the country near a home I was building. Neighbors had been feeding her and were about to take her to the shelter, so I stepped in to give her a safe place. She’s about a year old, very sweet, goofy, loving, and smart. She’s athletic, eager to please, and has done great in a home environment. I already have several permanent dogs and regularly foster a few each year, so my goal from the beginning was to get Poppy into a rescue that could place her with the right family. She’s been friendly with my dogs, but one of my small dogs is reactive, and I need to put his safety first. Poppy deserves a home where she can bond, learn, and thrive. I will cover her spay, vaccinations, and any needed vetting, and I’m able to foster her until she’s adopted.
