Story
Contact the foster at, planetpup704@gmail.comSparrow is a sweet girl who can be shy at first. She warms up pretty quickly and will be your little shadow! Sparrow is still learning how to be a puppy with other dogs and is shy and vocal. She probably would not be a good apartment dog because of her vocalizing, energy and breed. She has not shown any aggression towards people or other dogs, but she does like to announce her presence. She is a puppy who will need A LOT of training and exercise!!!! She does good in the crate and let you know when she needs to potty. Breed experience preferred!!!!

Story
Scooter is a very sweet boy, good with children and cats. He does not react to deer, golf carts, walkers, bikers, or small dogs when out walking, but does show reactivity with large dogs by barking and pulling. In the home, he is so lovely, calm, and friendly. He is a very laid back and relaxed dog. He is extremely responsive with treats on walks and his reactivity is easily managed with the use of food rewards. He still needs a bit of distance from larger dogs (20-30 feet) to be able to stay calm, but has done really well when this strategy is used. He has worked with a trainer and would benefit continuation to build social confidence. Scooter becomes very attached to his family. He loves with his whole heart! He has done fine with little dogs. Scooter would love a foster family, foster to adopt or a forever home. If interested, you can complete our application at safeanimalhaven.orgNovember 5, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
Meet our handsome hunk, Monkey! He is a year and two months old, about 56 lbs and completely amazing. He is working hard on his obedience commands and doing great. He is great with other dogs too. He does need plenty of stimulation for his breed. If you are looking for a funny, wonderful companion and have some experience with working dogs, and think Monkey could be your boy, please continue to read and fill out our on line application below. Meet this handsome young boy, Bogart. Bogart is typical shih-tzu with all that personality! He of course likes to be in charge. He is two years old and 20 pounds. He is looking for a family who understands his breed, no small children, and possibly another doggie to play with. If you think he might be the boy for you, then please continue to read and fill out our online application. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
Meet Miller – Your New Best Friend! Miller is a gorgeous two-year-old German Shepherd with a heart as big as his striking good looks. This energetic pup loves to spend his days playing with his favorite toys, hanging out with his foster doggie sibling, meeting friends at doggy daycare, and winding down with snuggles at the end of the day. If you’re looking for a fun-loving companion, Miller is the one for you! Miller thrives around doggy friends and warms up quickly to shower his humans with loyalty and affection. While he hasn’t been fostered in a home with cats, we think he’d do best in a feline-free environment. However, he would absolutely shine with a canine companion to bond and play with. Smart, eager to please, and always up for a challenge, Miller is the perfect candidate for training and will settle seamlessly into your family’s routine. This stunning boy is ready to bring joy, love, and endless adventures to his forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal partner with the best snuggles around, Miller can’t wait to meet you! --- To apply to adopt, please follow the steps for adoption on HalfwayThereRescue.com/Adoption-Process and apply directly here: https://fs26.formsite.com/htrnp/a2k3lsooud/index.html
