Story
Scooter is a very sweet boy, good with children and cats. He does not react to deer, golf carts, walkers, bikers, or small dogs when out walking, but does show reactivity with large dogs by barking and pulling. In the home, he is so lovely, calm, and friendly. He is a very laid back and relaxed dog. He is extremely responsive with treats on walks and his reactivity is easily managed with the use of food rewards. He still needs a bit of distance from larger dogs (20-30 feet) to be able to stay calm, but has done really well when this strategy is used. He has worked with a trainer and would benefit continuation to build social confidence. Scooter becomes very attached to his family. He loves with his whole heart! He has done fine with little dogs. Scooter would love a foster family, foster to adopt or a forever home. If interested, you can complete our application at safeanimalhaven.orgNovember 5, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Hi. My name is Jack. I am told I am both a handsome and well behaved guy. I was surrendered to the rescue because I had an owner that was not familiar with my breed and did not give me the proper mental and physical stimulation I needed and I got into trouble and made some mistakesSince being at the rescue, I have lost weight, learned some agility, I love to take a dunk in the kiddie pool, and I have been used as the distraction dog in training classes, I am housebroken, crate trained, up to date on all my vaccines and microchipped. My favorite things are going on walks, obedience training, and enjoying a nice chew bone. But my most favorite thing of all is to hang out with my favorite human! If you think I might be the guy for you, please put in an application.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Hi. I am new to the rescue. My foster mom will update when she learns more about me.For more information and to submit an application, got to www.arrfnc.com. Thanks!November 5, 2024, 9:56 pm

Story
To begin the adoption process, please fill out the SOTB Adoption Application completely. Once your application has been submitted, our Adoptions Team will be in contact shortly to set up a phone interview and a home visit. We've been coming across some really nice dogs in the area shelters lately, Ivy is one of those gems. She's 10ish months old right around Thanksgiving, she's about 30lbs, easy-going nature and just an all around delightful gal. Ivy gets along well with other dogs, she's housebroken and crate trained, she's laid back and has lovely house manners, and makes friends wherever she goes. As for what breed she is, it's anyone's guess. She has that German Shepherd mix coloration, but she's got a much shorter coat and is really quite small. Her face look like some sort of small breed mix, maybe pug and beagle had some say in her pedigree. We're going to guess a solid half dozen or more breeds are in there, and every last one of them contributed nothing bug good dog energy to this lovely soul. If you're looking for a safe, social, tolerant and easy kiddo that'd be a perfect first dog, Ivy's your gal. She's going to go unnoticed with her Plain Jane appearance, so do us a favor and show your friends and family who are dog shopping, she's going to check all the boxes for a lot of peoples' wishlist. Wondering how to adopt? Visit southofthebully.com and fill out an adoption application, we'll take it from there! Our adoption fee is $300. This covers spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, all age appropriate vaccines, and any needed vet care. November 15, 2024, 6:10 pm

Story
Meet T-bone, an 8 yr. old German Shepherd. T-bone's human Dad just passed away and he is living in an outdoor kennel until fosters or adopters can be found. T-bone is friendly, affectionate, healthy and walks well on a leash. He's a super smart boy just looking for someone to love. He would prefer to be the only dog in the house, as he just wants his humans to give him all the attention he deserves!

Story
(100% of adoption fee will be donated to Charlotte Humane Society). Mitchell was abandoned in our neighborhood in August 2024. He was wandering around during a terrible rain storm, so our neighbor took him in for the night. He was not able to keep him because his dog does not get along with other dogs, so we decided to at least take him to our vet to get him checked out and see if he had a microchip (he did not). He was awfully sweet and seemed to really love people, so we committed to fostering him and getting him healthy. Thus began a three month journey. We realized early-on that we could not keep him because we have four cats, and he has a strong instinct to chase small animals. We have been managing his stay with us by keeping him and the cats separate, keeping a schedule of daily activities, and occasionally visiting the dog park. He is very energetic and loves to play. He is now a healthy and happy boy, full of life! He is crate trained and would love a big yard!
