Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Autumn (TX) is a female Belgian Malinois mix rescued in Texas. Our veterinary partner estimates that Autumn is 1 year old at the time of intake in Sept 2023.  Autumn is good with people and other dogs.  Autumn is a young mother with 3 puppies, she did not have a good life on a chain and neglected. Autumn is a smart, spunky, happy girl who has shown herself to be incredibly loyal to her people. She still has a lot of puppy energy and will need an owner who understands her need to work and is willing to provide her with the physical and mental exercise she needs. Autumn would love a job! She is highly trainable and would excel at anything from agility to nose work. She would also like a doggie friend that can match her energy and play style. Autumn is potty trained and has never had an accident inside. She is good in her crate provided she is given proper exercise. She is also uncharacteristically sweet and snuggly for her breed. She always wants to be where you are and is always curious about what you are doing. She is such a sweet, social girl. . If you would like to give sweet Autumn a forever home, please apply online to adopt Autumn (TX) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.   RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 13, 2024, 12:24 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Barry (TX) is a male Belgium shepherd Malinois mix rescued in Texas. Our veterinary partner estimates that Barry is 4 months old at the time of intake early May 2023. Barry is a lovely, medium sized 11 month old puppy who loves to be with his people and cuddle. He is an excellent companion to his humans! Barry can and should spend long periods of time napping but will happily engage in fun activities at the right times. Barry loves starting his day with a game of fetch in the morning, go on walks throughout the day, and have playtime with his interactive toys. Barry loves to turn in early in his cozy quiet area to get some solid zzz's.. only to wake up refreshed and ready to start his day again. Barry is a very smart dog who can learn very quickly from a skilled trainer who can help him fit into his forever home. Barry spent time in a shelter, so he does startle easily in some situations without the right attention and training. He is doing great with his learning to socialize with other dogs and is already showing responses to the appropriate training that all young puppies need. Barry would be a great fit for a family with older kids or no children. If you think Barry would be a wonderful addition to your family, p lease  apply online to adopt Barry (TX) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoptionGiven technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. DeeDee and her sister DOLLY was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 24th September.  We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. DeeDee is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. She has an estimated date of birth of September 2023 and on 22 September weighed 50 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. The shelter noted the following on 2 September about both girls who were taken to the play group individually: Not feeling quite confident on the leash yet, was carried to the yard. She wasn't feeling confident enough to join in with the others at this time. She was standoffish and could feel overwhelmed at times.   Kennel visit - 5 September Stayed on bed and was licking my hands but when I went to pet her she kept flinching and moving her head. Got off the bed and continued to lick hands but still flinched when tried to pet her. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.  She does need an active family who will ensure she gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that she needs to live a happy fulfilling life. DeeDee is available for an adoption fee of $550 or if adopted with her sister DOLLY the adoption fee is $1,000 for both girls. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. Link to the adoption application! Click here to watch a video of DeeDee.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 16, 2024, 3:23 pm
