Story
Myra was pulled into MAD Rescue after being pulled from a Miami shelter with a broken jaw and several bite wounds. After several months of extensive healing with her amazing medical foster, Myra has made a full recovery! This was only made possible thanks to the generosity of our amazing MAD supporters that raised the money for her surgery. Thanks to our amazing community, Myra is now 100% recovered and is available for adoption! Myra has shown to be a super sweet but shy girl. She takes some time to warm up to new people, but once she does she is a sweetheart! She has been great with all resident dogs and children too! Myra loves playing with toys and enjoys car rides!  She is not good with cats, and is very sensitive to loud noises like shouting. She needs a loving family to teach her some confidence and help her be the dog we know she can be!  If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic.  We are an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location. Story
Trooper, a sweet and resilient 2 ½-year-old Belgian Malinois, has faced remarkable physical and emotional hurdles with bravery. When he first arrived at MAD in August 2023, he was in tough shape, suffering from three broken limbs—both hips and a shattered wrist—and open wounds. His journey to recovery has been complicated by severe kennel and separation anxiety, but Trooper has made amazing progress. Following multiple surgeries, including Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) on both hips and a partial arthrodesis on his front left wrist, Trooper is adapting well. While high-energy sports aren’t in his future, he enjoys walks, outings, and playtime with his foster siblings—both human and canine. He loves a bit of tug-of-war and playing ball until he’s tired, showing his playful spirit. Trooper has been working on building strength in his back legs and improving his public social skills. Though he can be protective and a bit jealous, he is learning to adjust to new friends with slow introductions. He’s very smart and knows several commands, including sit, place, come, leave it, back up, and wait. He’s even learned not to rush through an open door and has figured out how to open the door to let himself out! Trooper would thrive with someone committed to continuing his rehabilitation to build his strength and confidence. Could you be the forever home Trooper is looking for? With your support, he’ll have the best chance at a healthy, happy life filled with love and companionship. Story
Lovely Lacy is blooming!   She is now playful and more confident, which is heartwarming given her condition when first fostered.    This little gal was rescued from the shelter with a severe upper respiratory infection.  The vets warned us that she might not make it. BUT....this spunky gal beat the odds and fully recovered.  Lacy can be a shy at first when meeting new people.  It takes a while for her to warm up to a new person, but once she does she gives your heart and then becomes a total love bug.  She is very attached to her humans and loves to be with therm.   She walks well on a leash, knows her basic commands and has good recall.  She displays little prey drive, and has discovering the joys of chew bones!  She is a somewhat submissive dog when first meeting other dogs, but once comfortable she gets along fine with them.  She may benefit from being in a home with a confident, neutral dog friend.  She is also gets along fine with children (she has not been tested with very small children, but will likely be fine with supervision if they are not dog savvy)..  Lacy has growled at her foster's cat, so a dog savvy cat or close supervision will be needed with house cats until she shows her true behavior with them.  Due to her low prey drive, she is unlikely to chase cats.   Lacy has been growing and learning at her foster home, and is ready for a home of her own. As her foster mom says, "She is absolutely the sweetest girl ever!"  She is a wonderful, well behaved girl who deserves her own special home and humans who can love and receive her love and devotion in return!.  If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic.  All dogs come with a Fi tracking collar and a one-year subscription to the GPS service.
