Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: Unknown, likely noGood with kids: Yes, dog-savvy childrenCrate trained: YesHouse trained: YesOtto is a beautiful boy with a sweet, playful spirit! He is a medium energy dog who is hoping for a family who wants to include him in all the fun! He’s happy to attend weeknight soccer practice, movie nights, brewery weekends and all the adventures in between. Otto is currently fostered in a multidog household and loves playing with other dogs. He takes other dogs cues well, and entertains himself with toys when his doggy friends are all done playing. With his playful nature he would likely not be a great fit for cats. He has a larger-than-life personality, loves everyone, and wants everyone to love him back. The word “stranger” isn’t in Otto’s vocabulary as he makes friends everywhere he goes. Otto has done wonderfully meeting children; he sometimes forgets his size, so dog-savvy children would be best for him. He’s super sharp, conquering new skills with lightning speed, he has already mastered sit and is working hard on his recall. Otto is fully house and crate trained. He sleeps soundly in his crate overnight and can be crated throughout the day.Otto is improving his leash skills and will need a confident handler who can provide structure on his walks, as he can be super interested in critters and the world around him. He is looking for a loving family to continue to teach him new tricks and give him a whole lot of love.If you’re looking for an insanely good-looking dog with loads of potential, choose Otto! Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at www.lasthopek9.org. Story
Meet Milo, an approximately 11 month old Great Pyrenees/Belgian Malinois mix pupper! He weighs in at right around 90lbs. This handsome boy tends to lean more towards his Pyrenees roots when it comes to his behavior/personality. Milo can initially be a tad timid/aloof with new people, but warms up pretty quickly (although we’ve noticed he’s gaining some solid social skills as he spends more time in his foster home). He’s the biggest mush with his people, and will take every opportunity to politely ask for some love. Milo is a medium energy boy. He loves to run & play outside, and then will gladly curl up on the couch with you when it’s time for some cuddles. He also enjoys heading out on walks with his foster mom & siblings. He’s a goofy boy - he’ll keep you entertained with his playful antics. He loves to prance around outside with his foster siblings, and will gladly engage in play when they’re willing. We think he would absolutely thrive with another medium-large fur sibling or two in his new home. It took him a few days to settle in to his foster home, but now he’s best buddies with the 3 dogs in his foster home! Milo is house trained & crate trained! Overall, he’s pretty well-behaved in the house (he does still occasionally have his puppy moments though!). Story
Hello world. Our names are Demi (F) and Russell (M). We are barely over a year, nearly did not survive as younger pups, and then given the gift of love and kindness. So, here we are today. Our mom did not survive the cruel owner. But dad was his pride and joy, a large Belgian Malinois. Our owner did not care if we lived or died. At one point our littermates were coming down with parvo. This person did not care that our littermates were suffering. This very kind lady was persistent (all 5 feet tall). She came day after day until one day she told them she wasn't going to stand by and let us die too. Demi had all but given up. She was too weak to walk. The owner surrendering them loaded us up in her minivan. After a lot of TLC (tender loving care), medicine, and time, we came back to life. Today (08/13/2024), we do not slow down for pictures. We slow down enough for treats, dinner, and getting into our playard. We love all sizes of other dogs, we have been exposed to cats but have too much energy and love of life to say we are cat social. We love people, sort of leash trained, crate trained and for the most part house trained. We do get in a whole lot of playing and forget to go to the door. Our ideal home is active. Older children would be good. Have time to make us a part of your family. We want to please you. We are not a bonded pair. We would do great with or without another dog as company. Please request an application alittlelonger2home@gmail.com. Once you have received your application please fill out in full including your references email addresses. Next step is to submit your deposit to reserve me for your adoption.  See you soon Demi Female Spayed Breed Belgian Malinois mix Color Black and White Age 17 months old (As of 08/13/2024) Weight 49lbs Great with people, older children, dogs Adoption donation $525 Carlton Rescue- Operation Puppy Love 501c(3) (Like us on Facebook)
