Story
IDGSR Welcomes MIA into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Hey Y'all! My name is Mia and I'm a beautifull 3yr old female Belgian Malinois. I am located near Greeneville TN and will be available for transport to my forever home! I ended up in a scary shelter and I have no idea why. A shelter is no place for an active girl like me, thankfully IDGSR was able to put me in great foster home while I wait to be adopted! 1. I am a typical Malinois, I have a very very high energy level & need a job! I'm currently a bit underweight but don't you worry, my foster mom will put some pounds on me in no time! 2. I will need to be adopted by someone with prior Malinois or German Shepherd experience, no novice or first time adopters please. 3. I am super smart, I live up to my breed's reputation. I will learn anything you can teach me! I need to learn some standard obedience training and then I'd love to have a specific job! Training and working together will help us bond. 4. I am dog friendly & would do fine with older kids, ages 12+. I would love to have a friendly large male doggo to play with! You can see me playing with my friend Max in my video. 5. My big dreams include going on long walks, runs, or hikes, going on weekend adventures, riding in the car to get a Pup-Cup, and bonding to my forever person. 6. I love to follow my foster mom around and lean on her legs for some scratches. I can't wait to do the same with you! 7. If you are an experienced dog handler and are looking for an amazing, smart, loving, and active new bestie - I'm your girl! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** ***IMPORTANT ADOPTION INFORMATION*** -ALL dogs are fostered in TENNESSEE unless otherwise noted -We do transport dogs to the east coast; a transport fee will apply -All dogs are up-to-date on vaccinations, heart-worm testing, monthly preventatives, & are spayed or neutered -Puppies under 6-months of age will require a SPAY/NEUTER CONTRACT, a portion of the adoption fee will be refunded upon documentation of the spay/neuter -An application must be submitted before scheduling an appointment to meet a dog -Dogs are introduced to prospective adopters BY APPOINTMENT ONLY -Due to the high volume of emails we receive, first priority will be given to those with submitted applications -All rescue work is done by dedicated volunteers, please be respectful of their time -Not able to adopt? Story
Hello world. Our names are Demi (F) and Russell (M). We are barely over a year, nearly did not survive as younger pups, and then given the gift of love and kindness. So, here we are today. Our mom did not survive the cruel owner. But dad was his pride and joy, a large Belgian Malinois. Our owner did not care if we lived or died. At one point our littermates were coming down with parvo. This person did not care that our littermates were suffering. This very kind lady was persistent (all 5 feet tall). She came day after day until one day she told them she wasn't going to stand by and let us die too. Demi had all but given up. She was too weak to walk. The owner surrendering them loaded us up in her minivan. After a lot of TLC (tender loving care), medicine, and time, we came back to life. Today (08/13/2024), we do not slow down for pictures. We slow down enough for treats, dinner, and getting into our playard. We love all sizes of other dogs, we have been exposed to cats but have too much energy and love of life to say we are cat social. We love people, sort of leash trained, crate trained and for the most part house trained. We do get in a whole lot of playing and forget to go to the door. Our ideal home is active. Older children would be good. Have time to make us a part of your family. We want to please you. We are not a bonded pair. We would do great with or without another dog as company. Please request an application alittlelonger2home@gmail.com. Once you have received your application please fill out in full including your references email addresses. Next step is to submit your deposit to reserve me for your adoption.  See you soon Demi Female Spayed Breed Belgian Malinois mix Color Black and White Age 17 months old (As of 08/13/2024) Weight 49lbs Great with people, older children, dogs Adoption donation $525 Carlton Rescue- Operation Puppy Love 501c(3) (Like us on Facebook)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. DeeDee and her sister DOLLY was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 24th September.  We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. DeeDee is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. She has an estimated date of birth of September 2023 and on 22 September weighed 50 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. The shelter noted the following on 2 September about both girls who were taken to the play group individually: Not feeling quite confident on the leash yet, was carried to the yard. She wasn't feeling confident enough to join in with the others at this time. She was standoffish and could feel overwhelmed at times.   Kennel visit - 5 September Stayed on bed and was licking my hands but when I went to pet her she kept flinching and moving her head. Got off the bed and continued to lick hands but still flinched when tried to pet her. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.  She does need an active family who will ensure she gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that she needs to live a happy fulfilling life. DeeDee is available for an adoption fee of $550 or if adopted with her sister DOLLY the adoption fee is $1,000 for both girls. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application.
