Story
Schön means beautiful in German and uniquely beautiful she is! SSR rescued her as a neglected stray in Oklahoma. She burns calories like a typical high-energy Mal, experience with the breed is recommended. Schon will need more training, her ball and food drive will be sure to make training easier. She will fit best with an active lifestyle adopter who can give her purpose and keep her busy. This sweet and smart girl loves attention and is a 5-star space invader! Schon gives great hugs too! She gets along with other dogs, but tries to be dominate to dogs her size or smaller. No cats for this lady! This beautiful girl loves the game of tug-of-war and fetching her ball. She has a wonderful off-switch and enjoys a good snuggle. Schon is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations, crate trained, and housebroken. Her unique nose poses no health concerns. This forty pound "pocket rocket" is ready to find her forever family. Catch her if you can! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  If you are an approved adopter and are interested in this dog, please let your case worker know. If you are not yet an approved adopter but are interested, please complete an adoption application! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- WAFFLES IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR AN INDIVIDUAL ASKING TO REHOME THEIR DOG. PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Waffles was born April 5th, 2021. She is 45-50 pounds,  Spayed, and up to date on shots. Waffles is NOT good with cats or small dogs. No young children due to her high energy. Understands basic commands. (Sit, down, stay, come). She gets along with other big dogs with slow introductions. Waffles loves to be around her 'person', will roll onto her back for belly rubs. Crate trained but sleeps well outside the crate once she's used to her surroundings. She will easily jump a 4' fence and can unlock a gate so extra fenced security is needed for adoption. She LOVES her Kong!!If you are interested in adopting Waffles please contact Tracy at Tljaneski@gmail.com.  443-536-4076. Waffles is being fostered in Westminster MD.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 18, 2024, 9:06 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Louie was surrendered to Humane Society of Wicomico County because of a negligent owner, who did not provide the proper training to a Belgian Malinois Shepherd mix, which resulted in Louie killing his neighbor's goats. He is a smart, young beautiful dog, and very sweet with humans. A Belgian Malinois mix is a working breed that does  best in a home that is active and willing to provide training, and guidance.  Louie will require a strong leader and someone willing to work with him.   Louie is receiving training at the shelter and learning SIT and LEAVE IT. He is treat motivated. Louie seems to want to pull towards other dogs, we are not sure yet if he is aggressive towards them or wants to play. There is a video of him approaching a dog in a yard in a playful, non-aggressive manner. He may be dog selective.  Louie would not do well around small children. Older children who understand how to play with a dog may be okay He would do well with a fenced yard so he cannot have free range and go off property. Louis is definitely stressed out in the shelter environment.   Because our shelter is full, he is at risk of being euthanized to make space for others.  See more about Louie using the following link:  https://www.wicomicohumane.org/animals/chooie-looie/ PLEASE NOTE : THE DOG LISTED IS SHOWN AS A COURTESY TO ANOTHER ORGANIZATION OR FOR AN INDIVIDUAL WHO NEEDS TO FIND A NEW HOME FOR THEIR DOG. ASR    HAS NOT EVALUATED THIS DOG AND MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES REGARDING EITHER THE TEMPERAMENT OR THE HEALTH OF THE DOG.  YOU ARE ADVISED TO CONTACT THE INDIVIDUAL OR ORGANIZATION LISTED  TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS DOG AND TO DETERMINE IF THE DOG MIGHT BE RIGHT FOR YOUR SITUATION.  ALL INQUIRIES REGARDING THIS DOG MUST    BE DIRECTED TO THE CONTACT LISTED BELOW .
