Story
Meet Ranger, the intelligent and active Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and boundless energy. This handsome boy is a fast learner and has mastered essential commands like sit, down, wait, and shake. He's so clever that he tackled a level 3 puzzle on his first try! Ranger is a well-behaved and well-trained pup, making him a pleasure to have around the house. He's house trained, crate trained, and shows no signs of destructiveness indoors. However, he does experience some separation anxiety when his human leaves the house, which is why he's kept in his crate during errands. But don't worry, when he's playing in the backyard with his furry friend, he's perfectly content and doesn't exhibit any separation anxiety. Ranger is an active boy who loves going on walks, and he'll gladly accompany you on all your outdoor adventures. While Ranger is intelligent and affectionate, he can be barrier reactive, meaning he may react when he encounters certain barriers or boundaries. Patience and positive reinforcement training can help him overcome this behavior. This is very typical behavior for both breeds and he absolutely has to be adopted into a Mali/GSD knowledgeable family/ Ranger was in pretty rough shape when rescued and the vet initially thought he had an intestinal disease. Nothing was definitively diagnosed but the vet believes he has small intestinal issues. He is on a folate vitamin daily and will just need annual lab work and a high quality RAW FOOD diet. Ranger's charm and charisma shine through in the photos and videos provided, capturing his playful and loving nature. If you're looking for a smart, active, and affectionate companion, Ranger is the perfect match. Give him the love and care he deserves, and he'll reward you with loyalty and companionship like no other. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Rainier You can probably guess that when I was found and rescued it was raining, it was! However, I was named after the gorgeousness that is Mount Rainier :) I have the highlights and lowlights of the mountain on a sun-cloudy day :) I have a driven personality, not unlike my breed. I am a very medium sized dutchy shepherd and possibly have Belgian Malinois in me as well........and you must KNOW and LOVE the breeds. I make super arm candy, if you will exercise me (and my brain) we will be besties for life! Currently I am living my best life running around green fields of grass with my big radar ears charged and ready to go! You best believe I can hear everything! Better open that bag of treats as quietly as possible or I'll come running in! And I can actually hear you open your laptop to apply to adopt me! HURRY!! EDGE!!! HI...yes, I am an edgy guy with tenacity and energy. I am true to my breed, in I am smart and eager to learn. I was adopted at 3 months old but my family had a health crisis and had to surrender me back to my foster mom. She knows all about my breed and how smart we are LOL....She says I am excellent in my crate, sleeping all night and back in the mix for only a day, I have had no accidents as well...so it won't take me long to learn your routine. I am very smart and eager...which may push your current dogs in your homes buttons, so you need to definitely be an in charge leader cause I definitley will take charge if allowed. I currently live with 6 other dogs and I do try and push but they are in charge so I am relinquishing being leader for now LOL I am true to my breed mix and would love a family who is busy and understands how to keep my mind stimulated as well as my body. I am 5 months old and primed for excellence!!!! Please only breed knowledgeable folks or similar breed, like you know, 2 huskies, an alligator, a healer and 2 14 year old boys type experience all at the same time :) Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Sadly, due to an unexpected change in employment, I will no longer be able to properly take care of Mussa, be with her—breaks my heart. Mussa is a great dog. She is chill tempered at home: loves the couch as much as catching a tennis ball; obedient, very well house trained, loves people's company. She doesn't get along with other dogs. She should be leashed on walks at all times (tends to react aggressively to certain dogs or tries to get away from others). Avoidance strategies are best, unless she can run in a wide enclosed space. She would chase squirrels and deer if allowed! She is very affectionate and loves to be petted. She revs up and gets excited about walks or play. Her obedience and willingness to please make her easy to handle with firm kindness. She's not particularly food oriented. Her her cauliflower ear resulted from a poorly executed surgical intervention. She weighs about 60 lbs, is healthy, and is current on all her shots.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- WAFFLES IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR AN INDIVIDUAL ASKING TO REHOME THEIR DOG. PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Waffles was born April 5th, 2021. She is 45-50 pounds,  Spayed, and up to date on shots. Waffles is NOT good with cats or small dogs. No young children due to her high energy. Understands basic commands. (Sit, down, stay, come). She gets along with other big dogs with slow introductions. Waffles loves to be around her 'person', will roll onto her back for belly rubs. Crate trained but sleeps well outside the crate once she's used to her surroundings. She will easily jump a 4' fence and can unlock a gate so extra fenced security is needed for adoption. She LOVES her Kong!!If you are interested in adopting Waffles please contact Tracy at Tljaneski@gmail.com.  443-536-4076. Waffles is being fostered in Westminster MD.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 18, 2024, 9:06 pm

Please contact Adam Fishbein (adam.fishbein@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Playful boy looking for his forever family! THEODORE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Theodore          Best Guess for Breed:   Malinois, Lab    Best Guess for Age:   8 months as of February 2025          SEX:    Male   Approximate Weight:   38 lbs as of February 2025 (but still growing!)   Gets Along With:    Other dogs! We haven't seen Theodore with kids or cats. We are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!    Currently Living at:   DC area boarding facility. Theodore needs a forever home!   Theodore is Looking For:    A forever home - could it be with you? I heard about another Theodore who was a former President, but all I want is a loving family to give me belly rubs and cuddle in bed with. I would love to go to obedience class with you so I can show off how smart I am. Other dogs have told me that they get treats and belly rubs when we're done! So what do you think - do you have room in your life for a sweet boy like me? What My Foster Says About Me:   Theodore is a sweet pup with a whole lot of energy and will need consistent exercise and play. He's very food motivated and I got the impression he may have been in a home before and appears to be a quick study. On a day out, Theodore walked with a good pace but didn't pull too hard on the leash and generally responded to corrections. He did well at the dog park, too. He liked playing fetch but seemed to love playing with two of the other dogs even more. He played extremely well and didn't push too hard. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
You wouldn't think it'd be so hard to find a foster or adopter for a beautiful young mal, but here we are posting time and time again over the last few months with absolutely no interest in our girl Phoenix! Abandoned at just 8 months old—pregnant, scared, and left on an elderly man’s property in Corpus Christi, TX—her journey has been nothing short of remarkable. She was rescued just 24 hours before going into labor, and despite being a baby herself, Phoenix gave birth to seven puppies. While not all survived, she fulfilled her motherly duties and is now ready for her Second Start in life. Phoenix is a 1-year-old Malinois mix with the energy and drive typical of her breed. She’s incredibly smart, eager to learn, and has the potential to excel at activities like agility, nose work, or obedience training. Her foster mom says she’s a quick study and loves a good challenge. She can sniff out treats like a pro and thrives on both physical and mental stimulation. Phoenix is already crate trained and house trained, though she may need a day or two to adjust to a new environment. While she does well with other dogs, she isn’t the biggest fan of cats, so a cat-free home is ideal--though she is learning to co-exist with them. Phoenix’s ideal family is active and experienced, ready to help her channel her boundless energy into fun and fulfilling activities. Whether it’s hiking, mountain biking, or long runs, she’s the perfect fitness partner. Puzzle toys and training sessions also keep her sharp and happy. Let’s get Phoenix on the road to Virginia and into the loving home she deserves! If you’re ready for a loyal, active, and intelligent companion, Phoenix might just be your perfect match.

If so, Akiro might be the perfect addition to your family. Akiro is a sweet, shy boy who has faced more than his share of challenges. This gentle soul needs a special kind of adopter—someone who can provide the time and care required to help him overcome his fears and become the confident, loving companion he’s meant to be. Akiro will thrive best with someone experienced in handling anxious dogs. He needs a patient and understanding approach as he builds trust at his own pace. A calm and steady home environment will help him feel secure, and a predictable routine will make him more comfortable and confident. Positive reinforcement training is crucial for helping Akiro work through his fears. With gentle guidance, he can learn to approach new experiences with greater ease. Building trust with Akiro is a gradual process, so a dedicated owner who is committed to spending quality time with him and introducing him to new things slowly is essential. Once Akiro feels safe, he will reveal his deep affection and loyalty. His gentle nature will shine through as he begins to trust you. He enjoys quiet moments and will thrive in a serene home environment where he can relax and feel at ease. Important Note: Commitment Required Due to Akiro’s sensitive nature and the dedication needed for his development, we are not accepting returns for him. Akiro’s progress is delicate, and it’s essential that he finds a stable, committed home where he can continue his journey without interruption. Akiro needs an owner who is ready to invest in his training and socialization. Moving between homes can disrupt his progress, lead to separation anxiety, and hinder his development. If you’re prepared to offer Akiro a stable and loving environment and are committed to his ongoing growth, we invite you to consider adopting him. Your dedication will play a crucial role in helping Akiro become the confident and happy companion he’s meant to be. __________________________________If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application.Apply to adopt at: www.nerdypaws.org Nerdy Paws Animal Rescue is a foster based rescue in Springfield, VA. We do not have a shelter, all of our animals are in foster homes. We require all potential adopters to fill out an application before setting up a meeting with the animal and their foster family. Story
We rescued Sidney from a horrific shelter in Memphis, TN. When we got him, he was skin and bones and had some barrier aggression issues (who knows what horrors he suffered there) It didn't take long for Sidney to realize he was now safe and could start letting down his guard. Sidney Poitier has filled out and is truly a stunning dog. Sidney is about 2 years old, and is at his healthy weight of 80 lbs. Sidney is a very intelligent fellow, he learns quicky and is anxious to please. He will do well with a job and/or a lot of stimulation, long walks and hikes. He will do well with an experienced dog person. Sidney loves meeting new people. He has done well with large dogs he has met, however he is would not be good with small dogs or cats. Sidney does show barrier reactivity, however, when the barrier is removed (whether it is a crate, fence or car window) he show absolutely no issues. Because Sidney likes a lot of activity, he will need a securely fenced yard (must be a physical fence, not an electric or invisible system)  He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and on monthly treatment for flea/ticks and heartworm prevention Sidney is currently located in the Middle TN area but transport is included in the adoption fee for approved adopter If you are interested in Sidney Poitier, email cox_ann@bellsouth.net for an application

Story
Lulu is an amazing and very loving dog. I took her in back in June of 2021 when she was just a baby but in a household that was not taking care of her at all. I stepped up to the challenge since then I have been watching over her. She’s such a sweet pup and I have always strived to giving her the very best life but unfortunately no matter how much I want to I cannot anymore. I have 2 babies now and a full time job and that limits my time with Lulu. It’s hard for me to take her out when she needs to (we don’t have a fence), she’s so deserving of all the love and cuddles but my attention is so limited. She needs a home where she can roam freely and be dearly loved. She’s definitely protective of her territory but she’s very respectful when she’s out of her territory. I wish I can give her the life she deserves but I feel that keeping her is taking away from her having the best life. I’m just looking for a loving home for my girl. She does very well with kids too. She’s a sweetheart.
