Story
Letty spaghetti came to us with an ensemble of small children- who have since all been adopted! She was irresponsibly bred by her last owners before she was even a year old. She was a good mom but kept her children in line! And that is the energy she brings to our household, currently. Letty aka Lettuce is very self assured in where she stands in the pecking order (news flash: it’s towards the top!😂) As such, she does best with male dogs, or neutral females who won’t vie for the top spot. She is so so so so people social, offering a classic Malinois hug to anyone who will give her one- and even those that try to avoid her. 😅 We’re not sure exactly what type of sighthound she’s mixed with, but based on size we’re guessing it’s Whippet. Based on her frame and personality, it’s definitely sight-something! 😂 This girl is FAST, with a double suspension gait and a taste for small creatures, she would likely adore FastCAT; and we do have plans to introduce her when season opens up in the warmer months. She’s a slender built girl and appreciates a jacket on especially cold days. Letty is kind natured and loving, although her version of snuggles includes shivering furiously in your lap while she tries to lick the skin off your face. She has been a joy to have around, but we know the chaos of rescue with 30+ dogs isn’t her ideal forever home. So if you’re looking for a cool sport prospect or hiking buddy and have a single dog or smaller pack, come meet Lettuce Spaghettuce! Letty is available for adoption in Greenville SC. Out of area adopters must travel in to meet their dogs.

Story
December of 2024, Morgan and his brother Viggo and sister Lakota gallivanted their way into our rescue. Their post had been shared hundreds of times, with equally as many people invested in their rescue. They lived 24/7 in their kennel runs with no walks and no outside time; literally brain rotting. Their first few months were insane; un-potty trained, unhinged menaces, the three of them! We quickly discovered the Morgy aka Schm’orgals, aka Schmorgishboard, aka Mr Miagi, aka Mr Morgals… is a living, breathing cartoon character. He can’t walk on tile floors, he yodels into the wind, he runs like a newborn foal who hasn’t figured out their legs (which maybe explains why he parks out like a horse to pee 😂), he absolutely MUST carry something in his mouth 90% of the time, and he must climb/sniff/knock over/generally conquer new places and environments. Morgan is a quirky guy, distrusting of new strangers (this stranger danger makes him not a fit for homes with children), but easily won over with time, chicken, and the good ole art of *ignoring him.* He has just enough toy and food drive to be usable in sports, (and more than enough… uh… empty space in his smooth brain head to settle well in the house and enjoy napping the day away! His brother DNA tested as 50/50 Mali x GSD, but I am convinced he is a cryptid. Long live Mr M’yorgals. Morgan is available for adoption in Greenville SC. Out of area applicants must travel in for meet and greets.

Story
10 months! Almost 11 months- of 0 viable applications for Stelluna. Is it her age? She’s likely only 3 or 4. Is it her ears? It’s not her fault she was left outside for flies to eat them off. Is it her quirks? I think carrying her bowl and rolling around is hilarious. I really can’t pinpoint why Stelluna aka Stelly, Stellybells, Stellinski, Stellactite- is still with us. Stelly may despise car rides, but she loves adventure once she lands! She may prefer her company in male dogs, but she loves to play once she makes a friend. And she may only like cats if she’s ✨eating✨ them 😅, but has been safely managed around the kitties we have here. She knows sit and down, she knows how to walk well on leash (do not let her lie to you, she knows manners 😂), she is crate trained (but she stays in her own room or pen in the house and is lovely!), she’s a lover girl but not suffocating, and she’s a little weird, but in a truly endearing way. Stelly is the perfect dog for a home with mature adults with no or older kids, who will respect her desire for independence- and also her demands to throw her balls! 😂 She has enough toy and food drive to make training her a breeze, and enough “dude, where’s my car” energy to be happy with a solid hurkle durkle day in bed. If you want pretty, devoted, and smart all wrapped up in a non insane package, Stellybells is your girl! Stelluna is available for adoption in Greenville SC; all out of area adopters must travel in to meet and greet with their approved dog/s.

Story
Don’t let the fancy coat and floppy-sometimes-perky ears fool you—Lakota is equal parts sass, snuggle, and goofball. She’s a stunning brindle Shepherd-Mal mix with just the right blend of working breed brains and active pet vibes. Lakota gets along well with medium and large dogs, but she’s a hard no on cats. She’s crate trained (though she has a bit of a spin-cycle routine), has a big bark that she’s not shy about using, and has a quirky, funny attitude that keeps you laughing. She can be a little squirrelly when meeting new people, but give her a little time and she melts into full-body cuddles. She’s curious, clever, and showed interest in Barn Hunt—she could definitely blossom with some light sport or enrichment work. Lakota is looking for a home that understands shepherds or Mals and can appreciate a dog who talks back, leans hard into affection, and thrives with a mix of structure and fun. Available for adoption in Upstate SC. Out of state adopters must travel in to meet their dogs!

Story
If you look up “devastatingly handsome” in the dictionary, Rivian’s bright, beautiful face will be staring right back at you. This HUGE hunk (both in size and in character) is going to be a really lovely step-down Malinois, **OR** a low key addition for a dedicated Mali collector. 😂 Rivi was found as a stray, emaciated, so thin and frail it was difficult for him to climb stairs, get on the couch, or even get up from laying down. He spent weeks in foster with no inducement in weight, even with 8+ cups of hi cal food a day. Our vets agreed to start him on an EPI diet (hydrolyzed protein, B12 supplementation, pancreatic enzymes in soaked food, and Omega 3/6/9 supplementation) and it WORKED. He began picking up weight within a week, and his energy was up, his mood was bright, and we knew we were on the right track. We know EPI can be a scary diagnosis; Rivian is doing exceptionally well. He has a healthy appetite, his digestion appears good, and his condition is stable. He will need to continue the diet he is on for the REST OF HIS LIFE. We will be verifying veterinary references and discussing plans of action with potential adopters; it does not take long for EPI dogs to lose condition if their routine is not managed. Now onto the better stuff: this guy is so snuggly. He’s not a fan of strangers, and will disappear into the yard or the house when they come calling. He loves walks with his known humans, and will also be begrudgingly tag along for car rides. He is amazingly easy in the house, and prefers a 5x5 or 4x4 kennel to a regular crate, where he will bark- often, and loudly. For an unequipped home, Rivi looks like a lot. For a home that thinks management is no issue, and loves a good schedule, owning him will be a walk in the park! This guy has so much affection to give, and his personality (and ball drive) develops by the day. He is goofy but soft, strong but gentle, and shy but lovingly present. He has been around children, and especially loves those that are calm and respectful of dogs. He has shown desire to chase cats, but not to harm them, and has been playful or neutral with all of our dogs here, including other intact males. Rivian is available for adoption in Greenville SC. Out of area adopters must travel in to meet their dogs.

Story
Coco was part of our other German shepherd litter. He was adopted out at 12 weeks. He’ll be 2 years old 12/25. The family that adopted him couldn’t afford him anymore due to loss of income/job and asked if we could take him back. Instead of having him go to a kill shelter we took him as well as his sibling Dave back. Coco is up to date with shots until the end of December and is neutered.
