Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. DeeDee and her sister DOLLY was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 24th September.  We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. DeeDee is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. She has an estimated date of birth of September 2023 and on 22 September weighed 50 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. The shelter noted the following on 2 September about both girls who were taken to the play group individually: Not feeling quite confident on the leash yet, was carried to the yard. She wasn't feeling confident enough to join in with the others at this time. She was standoffish and could feel overwhelmed at times.   Kennel visit - 5 September Stayed on bed and was licking my hands but when I went to pet her she kept flinching and moving her head. Got off the bed and continued to lick hands but still flinched when tried to pet her. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.  She does need an active family who will ensure she gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that she needs to live a happy fulfilling life. DeeDee is available for an adoption fee of $550 or if adopted with her sister DOLLY the adoption fee is $1,000 for both girls. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. Story
Rhea is a sweet and loyal companion. She loves to snuggle, play outside, go on walks, and bombard you with kisses. Unfortunately, after she reached maturity, she became reactive towards other dogs and this is the reason for needing to rehome her. We are heartbroken, but we have two other dogs. She has encountered cats and never showed aggression towards them. She has also spent (little) time around a small child and she was sweet with them as well. It seems that other dogs are the only problem. She is leash trained, crate trained, and potty trained. Overall an amazing dog for anyone who wants ONE amazing companion.

Story
**DIASHA IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE SHE IS ADOPTED** Introducing Miss Daisha (pronounced DAY-SHUH). At two years old, this petite Dutch Shepherd or Malinois/Staffordshire mix is ready to join a loving pack permanently. The ideal home for Daisha would be with someone who has the time and passion to nurture her love for learning, maintain consistent training and exercise, and understands that her breed mix thrives on an active lifestyle. Daisha is a bundle of high energy, intelligence, and trainability, always keen to please. She's proficient in-house manners, leash walking, and crate training, and has an insatiable love for fetch, squeaky toys, car adventures, and she might just be the swiftest dog you'll ever encounter. Seriously, her speed is astonishing. While Daisha gets along well with other dogs, children, and adults, she's likely not suitable for a home with cats. Daisha has been fully vetted, receiving all necessary vaccinations, a 6-month Pro-Heart shot, monthly flea and tick preventatives, and she is also spayed and microchipped. The adoption fee for Daisha is $550, which covers her transportation to CT. A licensed and registered USDA transport company will be used to safely deliver Daisha to her new family up north. If you have any questions, please email newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com Daisha's Back Story (cliff note version) Daisha, an 8-week-old puppy, was rescued by a compassionate young man (current owner) from a relative who failed to provide for her basic needs. Shortly after her rescue, Daisha fell gravely ill with Parvo and required hospitalization. Following dedicated care, she has been nursed back to health. Daisha was allowed inside the house during her first year, she now roams freely in the backyard, which has become her permanent spot. Daisha lived with her owner's mother for about a year until her owner's mother began seeking assistance from rescue organizations to find Daisha a home that could provide the life she deserves.    You can apply to adopt Daisha here:  https://newbeginningsanimalrescue.net/adoption-application THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET! Hello hello to everyone out there. Let me introduce myself. My name is Lauren and I'm a happy sweetheart that is wanting a home, a family...one to call my very own. I'm around 2 years and 45lbs. I'm a well balanced social gal that does well with people and also with the other foster pups here. Although I haven't had the pleasure of meeting any of those strange creatures y'all call a cat. With my breed's prey drive I might do better in a home without any. I'm active, playful and ready to explore...everywhere! I will need both mental and physical stimulation every single day to help keep me a healthy happy girl and keep my shenanigans to a minimum. BUT in return you'll have a most affectionate loyal friend and family member!! I'm already house trained so that lets us get right to the fun stuff!! I have tons of love ready to be unleashed on my family! AND I'm big on personality, smart and inquisitive, affectionate and sweet. My oh my I have a boatload of great traits going on, oh and don't forget my stunningly gorgeous good looks, to make me a great family addition, I just need the family...could it be YOUR family? If we could be that perfect fit please fill out my adoption application found at haydudeequine.org

Story
Name: DieselAge: 3 years oldBreed: German ShepherdDogs: YesCats: YesKids: Over 12****German Shepherd or similar breed experience required****Our handsome guy Diesel is looking for his forever home! Diesel is 3 years old and is about 105lbs, he is one big dude! Diesel is not only handsome but charming as well! Diesel lacks confidence when meeting new people, so it may take him a little bit for our shy guy to come around and say hi, but with a little reassurance from his friends, his lovable, sweet, and playful side comes out and all Diesel wants is love and attention! Diesel loves his walks and his car rides, but what Diesel loves most is his people, he gets so excited to greet his friends!Mr. Diesel doesn't seem to mind other dogs and could care less about cats. Diesel has lived with a young child previously, but we are saying older breed-savvy children for Diesel. Diesel needs someone who can give him the time, patience, and attention he needs to help him come out of his shell and build his confidence. Diesel loves to walk around our expen patrolling the area, so would love a fenced-in yard and a home that can give him a job to do. Diesel is neutered, micro-chipped, and UTD on his vaccinations. If you are interested in giving Diesel his forever home, please fill out an application today!https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27
