Story
Summer came to us in winter of 2024 as a stray in the verge of starvation. We’ve nourished her back to good health and she’s doing ok now. We do not know her origins but she has done well at responding to basic commands such as sit and come here. We’ve tried our best over the past year to care for her but we were unprepared for a dog of her energy and caliber and have decided it would be best for her happiness to find someone with a more suitable home. Summer needs a large yard or farmland to free roam and we have two acres of unfenced land and every free roam attempt has caused issues with our neighbors. We love her but someone else out there will be able to give her the life she deserves.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If you are interested in any of the FFOSK9 pups,  the first step is to fill out an application at  http://www.ffosk9resq.org/info/adoption . Loki is a young 10 month old, 38 pound Malinois that was found wandering a small rural Alabama community. He is neutered,Heartworm negative, up to date on all his shots and started on his monthly preventatives. A good samaritan came across Loki and brought him home so we do not know much about his history or anything about his parentage.   Loki has come so far since he first came to Furever Friends of the South K-9 Rescue. He has gained a lot of confidence! He is so full of energy, and he is playful, silly, and an all around great pup. However, Loki needs someone that can train him so he can be all that he can be! He is smart, inquisitive, attentive, and focused. We just don't have the resources or the knowledge to train his breed. If you have experience with Belgian Malinois's, and you are searching for your next companion, please reach out to us and we can talk about his likes, dislikes, his funny quirks and his needs. You can see more about him on www.ffosk9resq.org EXPERIENCED HANDLERS PREFERRED ! To apply please visit our website at https://www.ffosk9resq.org/      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  We are a home based, not for profit organization in Northeast Alabama that helps place forgotten and unwanted pets in forever homes.  We are an all volunteer, 501(c)3  organization.  We rescue pets from high kill shelters, prior to being euthanized, as well as strays and unwanted pets. We do not adopt to "outside only" homes nor do we adopt to anyone who wishes to crop, dock, or do any other alterations except the spaying and neutering of their pets.  All pets are completely vetted, up to date on all vaccines, and given rabies certificates.   January 17, 2025, 1:30 pm

Story
Blondie is a beautiful 8 year old German Shepherd/ Malinois mix that weighs 58 lbs. She will require training from someone who is very experienced with protection dogs. We have been working with her but she shows signs that someone began protection training with her but never completed it. She does have a strong alfa personality but could potentially make a good protection dog with the right person. We do not think she ever lived indoors so there has been many new things for her. Blondie has been doing great with training and is HOUSEBROKEN! She is not good with kids or cats and is showing dominance to other dogs so it would best if she is the only dog in the house. She is spayed, heart worm negative, fully vaccinated and dewormed. Her adoption fee is $250. January 4, 2025, 12:52 am

Story
Ace was adopted from a shelter as a puppy so I've had him his who life. Ace will play when he's in the mood and although he is big and older he has no joint problems. He is crate and potty trained. I think he has atleast three to five years in him. He so kind and gentle. He is great with kids and LOVES attention and being pet. He is bonded with his 11 year old sister Angel. My husband is in the Air Guard and we are being sent to another state for training. Housing will not accommodate dogs. Iys a very hard decision for us to rehome but we have no other choice and just want to approach this decision the best way we can and avoid shelters. The odds for senior/large breed/bonded pair at a shelter is very bad. We have a very loose timeline on when we will be leaving. Once he gets orders we could be leaving in a week, or a month, again we have little information. So we are looking to rehome both dogs ASAP. Willing to negotiate financial help.
