Story
Senior German Shepherd Woofy lost his front right leg when he tried to escape the yard where he was kept all the time, and got hit by a vehicle. At 9 years of age, Woofy had to endure three surgeries and one amputation and he rocked it like a champ. Woofy is a resilient 90 lb pup who is full of life. So when his former owners brought him to our vet to put him down due to being injured, our vet refused to do so. Instead she contacted us and requested we help him. Woofy never knew what it was to be taken care of. He was an outside dog all his life and he was going to die without any love. But when he went to the hospital, he felt love. The nurses, techs, surgeon, everyone fell in love with him. Woofy may start off a bit shy but he soon bonds with his human. He is a typical shepherd, who is loyal, protective, and extremely intelligent. He is also very handsome and charming. Woofy has learned to walk on his three legs within minutes. He is a tripod but fully functional and no prosthetics were needed. Woofy likes to lay around in the sun or watch his human. He will do great in a quiet home. He loves other dogs and wants to play with them. He usually ignores the kitties but we will prefer he goes to a home without cats and kids. Woofy has all his shots, and is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and kept on heartworm and flea preventative. German shepherd experience is mandatory to adopt our shepherds.
