Story
Animal Profile: Galileo is an estimated 1-year-old 50-lb Beaceron mix. He was a stray intake and assessed at the Stanislaus shelter to be playful and goofy with people and dogs. He has a neat little corncob trick that is pretty adorable. He was scheduled for euthanasia on Sat 9/21 due to overcrowding but we pulled him at the 11th hour and he'll be arriving to Seattle area foster care. We'll share more as we get to know him.  Foster Update: Galileo is SO friendly! He immediately took to my 13 year old son and our 6.5 year old lab. He is very energetic, but also content cuddling with his head on your lap or nuzzled into your leg once he's worn himself out. He loves to meet new people, enjoys meeting new dogs, and doesn’t appear to have any prey drive on our walks. Galileo still has some puppy in him and can be a bit jumpy so older, dog savvy kids will probably be best. He is doing well in his crate, sleeps through the night, and has mastered potty training in the short time he has been here. He is such a smart guy; he’s learned sit and stay and is working on new commands each day. Galileo is amazing in the car and would love an active family who he can join on PNW adventures! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current core vaccinations per AVMA standards, negative heartworm test and microchip with lifetime registration. Adoption fees benefit all the animals in our rescue, and may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from the the high kill Stanilaus Modesto animal shelter and transported via START, arriving to Seattle area foster care 9/20/24. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.November 6, 2024, 5:36 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Henry is an estimated 2-year-old 75 lb neutered male Beauceron who is social and friendly with people and dogs. He was a stray intake to the Chatsworth shelter in Los Angeles in 2023 as an adolescent dog, adopted and then found a couple of weeks back tied outside a house with his crate and a bag of food, abandoned. A good samaritan took him in and was told by the shelter that as an adoption "return" he would be euthanized after his stray hold due to overcrowding. We stepped in to help. We will share more about him as we get to know him in foster care.  * Note, Henry was listed as a Doberman Lab mix, but based on his double rear dewclaws we believe he is a Beauceron or Beauceron mix.  Foster Update: Henry has been in foster care with Dog Gone Seattle since June 30 so we know quite a bit about him! He has been affectionate and friendly with people and dogs. He seems to have been an outdoor dog but has quickly picked up house training and crate training. Henry absolutely loves to run and play with other dogs, chase and be chased. He loves to play with toys and typically plays well with other dogs with toys but does require some supervision with high value resources such as bones. Henry is alert but not fearful or reactive to new people. He met a tall male stranger on KOMO news on air for a Seahawks promo and did great, and goes to adoption events like a pro. As he's settled into foster care, he has shown that he can react to humans reaching for his head or collar while he is crated or chewing on a bone, so we have been addressing that through training. He has been in several different foster homes and adjusted to each beautifully, including one with children ages 1.5, 3 and 5.    Adopter Profile: Most important for Henry (more than people in the home, yard vs apartment, schedule) will be having a human who is comfortable providing foundational training and consistent leadership. Large dog experience is required. We will continue to work on this in foster care, but with his size it will be important for him to learn good manners. Henry could do well with an active experienced owner in an apartment, or in a home, and would be OK in a pack with other playful dogs, or as an only dog with opportunities for play dates.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Henry was a stray intake to Chatsworth LA shelter in spring 2023, adopted and then abandoned in June 2024. He was taken in by a good samaritan and transferred to Dog Gone Seattle via Wiggle Butts, arriving to foster care on June 30, 2024. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.November 8, 2024, 5:05 pm

Story
Toby is a 5-6 year old, 90-100lb Shepherd mix who is looking for his perfect forever home. Toby was abused in his past and due to this will need a very specific family. He is very sweet and loyal with his people once he is bonded. Toby is looking for a home that has a fully fenced yard out of the city. Somewhere rural and quiet would be perfect for him! He prefers women to men and can take some time to trust men. His ideal home would be female only, but could do ok with a female/male couple if the man was patient and could build trust with him. Toby needs a home without kids and other animals. No other dogs or cats. Toby can walk fine on leash around other dogs but needs to be the only dog in the home. Toby loves to run and play and will love to spend time with his people in his backyard soaking up the sun and running around. Toby is neutered, UTD on shots and microchipped. His adoption fee is $200.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Give a warm welcome to Taz! He is a beautiful, 2-year-old, 75lb Rottweiler, who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA. Taz is a very sweet and loving dog, who listens well to his handler and loves to go on walks. He loves to please his handler which is great for training purposes. He is incredibly cuddly for a big boy and loves to snuggle up with you. We believe he was in a home once, as he knows some basic commands already such as sit, down, and shake. He does well with other dogs and would be fine as an only dog or an additional dog to a home. He is going to make an such a loyal companion to whoever ends up being his lucky adopter. We are looking for a home with a securely fenced yard for him. Taz is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Introducing this sweet girl, Zelda! She is a 7-year-old, 80lb Rottweiler, who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA in hopes of finding her forever home. Zelda is a sweet girl who would love nothing more than being by your side all day. She is incredibly polite, and as long as she has a cozy place to rest she’s content. Zelda does wonderfully in a kennel, and loves her naps through the day. She’s good on a leash, though she doesn’t always want other dogs coming up to say hello. Zelda does have some issues with resource guarding, and would probably prefer being an only dog or having an experienced owner. Without resources as an issue, she loves having other dogs around and playing a good game of chase! She loves her treats, but is still learning to take them gently from hands, so fingers beware! Zelda does super well in the car, and would be a great driving buddy to have. She’s still getting the hang of “fetch”, but loves chasing balls around the yard. Zelda does okay on stairs, but more than a few could be an issue as she can be quite clumsy. Zelda is a total sweetheart who wants to have her person that she can follow from room to room and share her love with. And if you’re lucky, once she feels comfortable with you you might be rewarded with some hoppy little tippy taps when she’s excited to see you. She is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $400.
