Story
Maria is an older gal who is set in her ways. Maria has been in our shelter for over a year now. Maria is a sweetheart once she gets to know you. She loves to play fetch, although she will not always bring the ball back to you. She likes canned food mixed in with her dry food, or a little bit of broth, and soft/chewy treats for snacks. Maria has been dog tested multiple times, but has unfortunately failed every one of those. Maria does wonderful for walks, although for whatever reason she does not like people riding bicycles. Maria would do perfect in a home with an older couple. In the year that Maria has been with us, she has never once used the bathroom in her kennel, unless she had an upset stomach, which is rarely.

Story
Clarice was picked up as a stray that took us a bit to catch. It appears that she's fairly young and possibly no more that 2 years old. She seems like she was adopted as a puppy, but whoever had her did not work with her whatsoever. We are working on listening skills and basic commands. Clarice is a total goofball though and LOVES to play with other dogs. She acts like she had never had a bath before, but if in a secluded area she does alright for baths, but needs some work on it. Clarice will be ready to go home after she's been spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, etc. Clarice is HEARTWORM POSITIVE. We have started her heartworm treatment. As long as Clarice is adopted through us, her treatment is covered. Clarice needs a calm/chill/relaxed environment while she continues her treatment which is around 2-3 months.
