The cost of her medications is about $145 per month. Foster Home Feedback  ** Apartments not recommended due to her loud bark ** No Cats 03/05/2024 Foster Feedback: Here are some reasons why Fleetfoot (we call her Maggie) would be a great dog for you: She is potty trained and will go to the door when she wants to go out. After a period of adjustment, she has really come out of her shell and adjusted well to our family. She sleeps through the night and is as quiet as a mouse. She sleeps on a couch usually but the times that I have put her in her kennel for an extended time, she will stay quiet in there as well.  She enjoys playing with the other dogs in the home. She's young, so she has more energy than they do, but she has no problem playing with a toy by herself as well. She still loves playing tug-of-war and does really good with fetch; she returns it but doesn't always want to drop it so you just have to have 2 toys that you keep throwing. She has learned to understand cues that the other dogs give her. If they want to be left alone and bark or snarl at her, she'll leave them alone. We have a resident "grump" who usually wants to be left alone but this morning I caught Fleetfoot licking her face so they are definitely warming up to each other! Fleetfoot enjoys car rides and prefers to have a window open so she can check out the world outside of her house. She LOVES going on walks.....sniff walks that is. She has her nose to the ground for most of the walk but that helps stimulate her mentally so it's all good. She does well free roaming in my house when I'm not home. While she has chewed on some shoe laces, but not the shoes; that is the extent of her chewing. She likes everyone - adults, kids, female, male.....she's not fussy.  Just be sure to greet her when you come over. She takes treats (loves green beans) from your hand every so gently. Fleetfoot would LOVE to find her FUREVER home so please consider meeting her to see if she would fit in your home.  12/02/23 Foster Feedback:  Hi, my name is Fleetfoot but my foster mom is calling me Maggie Mae and I have grown to love it.   I am such a good girl and I hear it all of the time!  I love getting pets and rubs all over my body and while I do enjoy cuddling next to you on the couch, there are times that I'm happy just being by myself too.  I love playing outside and one of my favorite things to do is to fetch a toy.  I am working on the "Drop" command but it's hard to remember to drop the toy so I can chase it again because I really like playing tug of war too!  While I am still working on that command, I have learned the "sit" and "down" command and I do really well when my name is called.  Sometimes I play outside with the neighborhood kids and they love me.   I like eating snow and ice cubes! I enjoy going on walks and I do pretty darn good, if I do say so myself!  I do pull on the leash a little bit but I'm working on that. I like to walk a couple of steps in front of my foster mom to make sure it is safe for her to follow.   I am very interested in other dogs and people and I tend to bark, but it's only because I either want them to come over and pet me or I'm looking for a play date.  I don't mean any harm by it.  I love going for car rides; I usually lay down in the back seat quietly.  If it's not too cold outside, I love having a window partly down sometimes, so I can stick my head out and smell everything around me.   At night time, my foster mom lets me lay next to her in the bed.  I might start off there but I usually end up on the floor or on the couch in the next room.  I don't ever wake her up in the morning.  I let her do that so she can feel like she's in charge. When she leaves the house, she throws some treats in my kennel and I willingly go in and lay down.  I'm quiet as a mouse when I'm in there; actually quieter than if she had left me outside of the kennel so it's a win win for both of us; I get to rest in my safe place while she's gone and she gets an untouched house when she returns. I hope you'll take the time to meet me soon!  I'm hoping that my furever family is out there looking for me right now so I can spend the holidays with you! Woof (Sincerely), Maggie Mae (Fleetfoot) 10/28/23 Foster Feedback: Do want a dog with personality?  Fleetfoot is for you! Fleetfoot has been with me for a few months. She has lots of energy and loves to play fetch with anything - a ball, a stick, it doesn't matter. Looking out the window is a favorite pastime. She likes to hide her bones EVERYWHERE! She gets along with other dogs but isn't good with cats. She goes in her crate fine but takes a few minutes to calm down. Fleetfoot is still working on potty training but she will let you know when she needs to go out. We are working on our walks, she pulls a little at first but then settles down. She is not a resource guarder but has been known to steal a treat or two. She hasn't shown aggression toward children, but they might be startled or knocked over by her exuberance. If you have experience with German shepherds this is the dog for you! She is very sweet but she is very very active. To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org February 1, 2025, 10:28 am

She is gentle and kind and large but slow and confident. Pippi loves scratches and snuggles and playing ball. This ol gal needs a calm home she can monitor and ensure the safety of its residents.  9/12/24 Building Volunteer Feedback: Pippi is such an easy dog at the shelter, and I imagine that translates to being an easy to care for dog in her home. Pippi is such a nice gentle dog, she walks like an angel, is potty trained, and generally doesn't cause a ruckus in her kennel. Being calm in the shelter environment isn't always the easiest and Pippi has done very well keeping her cool. It is heartbreaking to see her in the shelter environment for so long but at least she is doing well. Pippi does love a game of fetch and a good walk but she also has no issue taking princess naps throughout the day.   While Pippi isn't a good candidate to live with other dogs (or pets) since she will resource guard her favorite person from other animals, she can be friendly with dogs in a daycare environment. Her out of home dog socialization is good, which is good for encounters expected or otherwise. As we have needed shelter space Pippi goes to Fetchers where she gets socializing via doggy daycare and has a very fun time doing so. Pippi would be a great companion looking for her spot to lounge. She hopes it is with you  7/19/2024 Foster Feedback: Pippi is the sweetest angel girl there is! She seemed very comfortable with me right away . Pippi loves to play ball, looking out the window, going for walks and chewing on her chew toy! Pippi is 100% potty trained and never had an accident while in my home. I did not put her in a kennel ever because she didn't seem interested in anything she wasn’t supposed to have; she didn't try to get into the garage or onto the counter! She is the sweetest girl and loves to give kisses, getting head rubs, scratches right above her tail and sleeping next to you! She deserves the best home! 5/11/2024 Foster Feedback:  Pippi has settled in quite well and is looking to be the Queen in someone's house. Her favorite things include running around the yard chasing her jolly ball, chewing on bones, sleeping next to her favorite people, playing tug of war, and carrying around her stuffed toys. She also loves going on walks around the neighborhood and the park.  Pippi knows the following commands: Sit, Stay, Lay down, Shake, High five, Leave it, Come, and Kennel. She is kennel trained, has fantastic leash manners, and is potty trained. Pippi will let you know when she needs to go outside by standing next to the door until you let her out.    At the moment, she wants to be the queen of the castle, so she will bark at dogs or strangers walking past the house. She will also bark at dogs walking too close to her. We have been working on this with her.   Pippi would make a lovely addition to any family looking for a laid back, but fun loving "bear" in their house! 4/12/2019 Volunteer Feedback: Pippi is a very happy pup! She’s always smiling and investigating new places with her sniffer. She loves squeaky toys and belly scratches. Her back foot kicks when you find the right spot! Pippi does really well on walks and would love a family that would enjoy her cuddles and kisses. To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org February 1, 2025, 10:50 am

He is a loving dog that just wants to be near you and touch you. He will come when called, heels very well, can sit when told, and we’re working on the stay portion. He gets along well with my dog and anybody he encounters. He loves his toys and will play catch for as long as you want to throw the ball. He is house-trained and does not mind the kennel. I leave him out when I'm gone, and he mostly lies on the couch or bed or just hangs out, stretched out on the floor. Burger doesn't seem to bother anything around the house, including the animal mounts that we have. He loves the snow and will roll in it and plow around on his head. He's a little goofy that way! Burger does have some habits that I have noticed. I figured out that the one side of the yard with the 4' fence is a little low as climbing over it is not a big challenge for him. He's done it a couple of times, but he comes to you when you get to him, so he doesn't run. He’s just curious about the neighbors, I guess. I take him out to potty on a leash now to avoid this, but he's sort of a private guy, so it takes a couple of tries to get it done. On the good side, he's got a bladder that never ends, so, he doesn't have accidents in the house. Burger has also figured out how to slip his collar but has only done it once.  He is tall enough to surf the counters but doesn't take anything, just likes to look and see what's there or outside the window. Burger just loves to be petted and hugged. He melts into you and just can't get enough of it. He really wants to play with my dog, but for some reason, mine is being a snob. He has shown no aggression even when my little twerp growls at him. He would do great with another dog to play with.  Overall, he is a calm and pretty low-maintenance dog! **  Burger is Lyme positive. This is a tick-borne illness, and he is currently being treated with Doxycycline.
