Story
Tulee wants to know if she can come and sleep in your bed!! She says she loves her sleepovers with the volunteers but she would really like a home of her own where she can lay around and receive all of the love and attention that she deserves. Tulee is a middle aged adult Shepherd/Husky mix. She says she isn't huge but she isn't tiny either. But she thinks she is tiny! She would prefer to be a solo dog as she has some arthritis now in her hips and doesn't like to play much with the other dogs. She does love to go for nice long walks though! It's one of her most favorite things to do other than lounge in your bed or in her dog bed. If this sounds like your kind of dog, please contact the shelter to meet Tulee! She would like an adult only home, but would also be totally ok with teens or respectful older children. She LOVES people, but being an older gal, little kids would be too much for her. Story
Ellie is an affectionate, intelligent female dog that is approximately eight years old. This gorgeous girl enjoys cuddles, playing with toys, and having a good run around. Ellie is excellent at going for walks on a leash and has all the basic commands mastered - she knows how to sit, shake-a-paw, lay down, and stay. We think that Ellie may be a lab shepherd cross. She was found tied to a tree in a local park, so not much is known about her past. However, it is clear that she was well taken care of and is well-trained. She is a respectful dog who is friendly with humans and ignores most other dogs. We have seen some reactivity towards other female dogs, and she does have a tendency to want to jump up on the people she likes - so a little more training would be beneficial. -------------------------------------------------------------------- At City of Vancouver Animal Services, we have a foster-to-adopt program whereby prospective new owners foster the adoptable animal for 21 days before committing to adoption. This ensures that both the new owner and the adoptable animal are well suited to each other. Story
Uma is a beautiful dog with lots of love to give! She is a very affectionate and brave dog who is always curious about the world around her. She is friendly to everyone she meets and loves to play and receive pets. Uma is very smart and is already very well trained. She enjoys being the center of attention and having a good time. Uma has so much love to give and is a very healthy dog. She would be the perfect companion for someone looking for an adventure buddy that is also very good at settling in the house. Uma is not good with other female dogs. She could live with a well matched calmer male dog. Although much of Uma's past is unknown, she was very well socialized and shows little to no behavioral issues. She is housetrained and is very well mannered. She has been reactive towards other female dogs in the very busy shelter but that disappears off property. Uma would love to live outside the city where she can get exercised properly. She would be great to go hiking or camping with! Other Dogs: Well matched, males preferred Cats: Unknown Kids: Yes but older 12+ Apartment: Probably not Walks: Loves them!
