Story
Meet Knox â&#194&#128&#194&#147 The Ball-Loving Adventure Buddy! If I were to describe Knox in one sentence, it would be: 'Ball is life!' Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a 3-year-old, 40-pound Bearded Collie mix (we think). Knox is an absolute heartbreaker with a face that will melt anyoneâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s heart. He can grow long, luxurious hair, but I keep it short. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a happy, energetic boy who thrives on play with people and dogs, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll bring joy and excitement to any adventure! He came into my life when he was around 6 months old. Before that, he lived on a farm under less-than-ideal conditions, and it's possible he experienced some mistreatment or isolation. Because of this, He can be timid with new experiences at first but once he knows heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s safe he will relax and he's ready for the adventure. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. Knoxâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s Favorite Things Knox absolutely LOVES balls (tennis balls are his #1 favorite!), squeaky toys, car rides with his head out the window, visits to the dog park and walksâ&#194&#128&#194&#148though weâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re still working on perfecting his leash skills. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s food-motivated, which is very helpful in his training! Kids are some of his favorite people because they love to play too! Knox isn't a big cuddler, but he does like to be near his people and appreciates lots of love and a good belly scratch first thing in the morning and evenings when he's winding down. While Knox would rather play than nap during the day, he loves a good 10-12 hours sleep and will put himself to bed when heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s ready. The Perfect Home for Knox The perfect home for Knox would be an active one with a fenced backyard and perhaps a couple of kids, another dog or two who love to play or an owner who enjoys adventures and can provide him with plenty of attention and engagement. A small apartment, a busy home with long periods of isolation and little attention and exercise would not be suitable for him. Knoxâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s Good Habits Knox is completely house-trained and never has accidents indoors. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a big fan of his kennel and often chooses to sleep there, even though heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s free to sleep anywhere in the house. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s not destructive and sticks to chewing his toys (which he loves). His shedding is minimalâ&#194&#128&#194&#148while you will find hairballs on the floor, youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll only occasionally find a stray hair or two on your clothes. Knox is a smart boy who knows commands like sit, lay down, and comeâ&#194&#128&#194&#148especially if thereâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s food or a toy involved! Choosing to re-home Knox has been one of the hardest decisions Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ve ever had to make. I love him with all my heart, and it pains me to admit that his needs have grown beyond what I can provide. When I worked from home, I was able to give him the exercise and attention he thrives on. But with my return to an in-office schedule, I canâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t give him the time and attention he deserves. As much as I wish I could make it work, I know itâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s not fair to him. Knox deserves a family who can provide him with the playtime and attention he craves. If youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re an active person or family looking for a loyal, playful companion, I truly believe Knox would be the perfect addition to your life.February 2, 2025, 4:23 pm
