Story
This is a unique breed to us here at the shelter, and haven't seen it for a while. This guy was from a breeder and the owner asked us to find him a home as they were in over their heads. We were told he was AKC registered, but there was no proof provided, so we are unable to verify the information. He is clearly an Old English, but is smaller than breed standard. He weighs 78 pounds and we are told he is about a year of age so may have some additional growing. He is very sweet. The person who had him prior only left him outdoors, but we would love to find someone who will work to train him to be a house pet as well. This boy was really not given the attention he deserves, but he is still a very good natured dog. He came in extremely matted, so we had to get him groomed and unfortunately, his coat was so matted, he needed to be stripped. His before picture shows his grown out coat, so you will have to use your imagination for a little while!! His tail has not been docked. Gandalf will require regular brushing to keep him from getting tangled in the future. We are told he has been comfortable around young children and gets along with other dogs. Not tested with any cats. $400.00 adoption for this unique boy. This will help us a bit with his neuter, vaccinations, microchipping and the grooming costs. Story
Meet our resilient Old English Sheepdog puppy. This sweet and spirited puppy has already proven theyre a little fighter! Born around September 15, 2024, Sandy came to us in early January, along with her littermates and father, from a breeder who was moving out of state. Unfortunately, a day after arriving, she was one of three puppies who fell ill with parvovirus. Thanks to dedicated veterinary care and lots of love, she is now fully recovered, thriving, and ready to find her forever home. While we were told that the parents were AKC-registered, no documentation was provided. However, we did meet both parents, and they are pure Old English Sheepdogs, known for their fluffy coats and loving personalities. This breed tends to be large and requires regular grooming, so familiarity with their care needs is important. This happy pup is eating well, playful, and has a wonderfully sweet temperament. Weve started the first round of puppy vaccinations, and she will be spayed and microchipped before adoption. Due to the significant veterinary costs incurred during her recovery, we are asking for a $600 adoption fee, which helps cover only a portion of her treatment expenses. If youre ready to welcome a loyal, affectionate, and fluffy friend into your home, please reach out to us to learn more or schedule a visit!
