Story
Meet Moon, a 2-year-old spayed female Beagle-Jindo mix with a stunning coat of gray, brown, and white. Moon currently weighs 8.6 kg and has a heartwarming rescue story. In February 2023, she and her three siblings were saved from being sold to a dog meat farm after being born in a local neighbourhood. Since then, Moon has been blossoming into a wonderful companion. Moon is a social butterfly who adores people. She loves to nuzzle up to both familiar faces and strangers, happily welcoming pets and belly rubs—even from those she’s meeting for the first time. Although she’s affectionate and easygoing, she may feel a little uneasy around children under 13 due to their sudden movements or loud noises. She’s gentle and trusting enough to be picked up with arms under her belly and doesn’t mind showing her belly to new friends. When it comes to other dogs, Moon’s socialization journey is ongoing. She grew up only interacting with her siblings, so meeting new dogs was initially a bit challenging for her. Over time, however, she has learned to coexist peacefully with other pups. Moon is polite during greetings but doesn’t often engage in play and tends to shy away from overly energetic or pushy dogs, sometimes with a little growl. She prefers her personal space when it comes to sniffing; while she’s happy to investigate another dog, she’s not as keen when they get too curious about her. Moon’s doggy interactions are improving day by day, though she might still need some guidance when meeting unfamiliar dogs for the first time. Her experience with cats or birds hasn’t been observed yet, so her compatibility with them remains unknown. Moon’s energy level is moderate, making her the perfect balance of active and relaxed. She loves outdoor adventures and is content to rest quietly afterward. While she enjoys exploring, she’s still getting used to the big, noisy world. Cars and busy streets can be overwhelming, but she gains confidence as she practices. Moon likes to stay close to her person on walks, often checking in and walking by their side. With time and patience, her love for walks will only grow—especially since she has such a keen nose for sniffing! This sweet girl is impressively well-mannered. She doesn’t resource guard food, rarely barks, and rides calmly in a crate. However, she does get a little nervous about getting into cars, so she may need to be carried inside for now. Moon is mainly accustomed to outdoor pottying and keeps a clean space. With her gentle demeanour and loving personality, Moon will surely be a loyal and delightful companion. She’s waiting for a family who will continue to help her gain confidence and show her the joy of the world! Story
MEET HUNTER! HUNTER is a 1-1/2-year-old sweet Beagle-mix boy currently in a foster home in Seattle. He loves to be around people, and previously was in a different foster home with other dogs. He is still very puppyish but is very trainable! He can be a bit leash reactive, a common trait among many dogs, but in a home with another dog he was a model citizen. Hunter's ideal home is with someone who works from home or who is retired, since he doesn't like to be alone very much. He's quite vocal in an adorable way and will tell you his displeasure when you leave. Hunter loves everyone - he would be great for an active single person or couple, and he would do wonderfully with a family with kids over the age of 5 (only because he likes to jump up - he's still a puppy and learning). He weighs about 45 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
Meet Mac! Mac and his littermates were surrendered by their owner whose dog had an 'accidental' litter. Their mom was a medium size Beagle mix dog. We can't be sure who dad was but we think he must have also been a mystery mix. The pups all have unique coloring. We think they will grow to be medium to large dogs. At around 7 weeks of age they are ranging from 7-10 lbs. Their full grown size is just an estimate but possibly in the 50-60 lbs range.  This litter of puppies is just lovely. They all have great temperaments, are well socialized and get along with all other animals. Our foster homes are doing their best to get them started on some basic training and socialization and it is important that this work continues. When adopting a puppy there is a golden opportunity to raise them well and teach them well so that they can grow up to be good canine citizens. We really want to find them families who will be dedicated to helping them learn and grow.  Puppies are mouthy, bitey, naughty and sometimes smelly. They may eat your kid's toys and pee in your house. They may chew up your favorite shoes or get into the Halloween chocolate. They can't stay home alone too long and if you don't train them well they will grow from little gremlins into big problems. Puppies are a bit commitment! If you are ready for the challenge, we are here to support you. We have great resources, a great trainer and lots of moral support as you explore the wonders of puppy parenthood! All of the pups have received their first puppy vaccinations and are dewormed and chipped. They will be neutered or spayed between 8-12 months of age at our cost. Their adoption fee is $525. Applications can be sent to savinggreatanimals.org. We review them in the order received. All puppy meet and greets take place in the foster home. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! When adopting a puppy there is a golden opportunity to raise them well and teach them well so that they can grow up to be good canine citizens. We really want to find them families who will be dedicated to helping them learn and grow.  From Poppy's foster: Poppy is a confident, sweet and affectionate puppy! She loves giving little face kisses, if you're into that. If not, she's quite happy to snuggle up in your neck, arms or lap and go to sleep. She's being fostered with her brother, Peanut, and she's been the more confident of the 2. She loves to run, play and wrestle as all puppies do, and she's quick to settle down for cuddling after play time is over. She's curious, but not afraid, of our two large 65lb dogs. She uses and responds to appropriate dog body language. They haven't been interested in playing with her, but she does hang out around them and seems to enjoy their company. When it comes to food and bedding, she is 100% a princess. Her preference is a very soft donut bed in front of a fireplace or heater. And when it comes to food, she believes that she should only eat if she is very hungry or if it's very high quality food or snacks. She'd also prefer to be hand fed, although she will eat out of her bowl if she's hungry. Poppy is a delightful, fun puppy who will make a great family member!   Puppies are mouthy, bitey, naughty and sometimes smelly. They may eat your kid's toys and pee in your house.
